extreme, OFFS! you've obviously never been involved in any kind of sport so such as boxing, muay thai etc...go to any gym and i guarantee these exercises are commonplace, granted i've never used the barbell but just used a weight plate (held against the chest) on it's own, there are a few other lads on the board who do muay thai too, this will be nothing new to them either

How is the hitting him in the stomach repeatedly helping tone muscle?

He takes it a little further than most to be fair, but alot of that performance was just that.....a performance for the cameras.
What he did is quite common in muay thai, boxing etc.......maybe not for your standard training classes, but for fighters it's absolutely essential......you need to condition your body to taking shots......the punching of the body, slamming a medecine ball onto the stomach, etc are all part of the training........grea t great fun :D

It's not......it's helping condition his body for the shots he's going to be taking during a fight......that's all it is........no need for alot of that stuff if you're not a fighter.

repped for the classic van dammage.
the scene with paco was responsible for my 16 years of training.
