After what we saw on tv3 last week in relation to the hurler im really not expecting much. I bet they go back and dig up all the dirt from Saipan aswell. However might be worth a gawk, theres fuck all else on anyway.

Que sinister background music, an interview with Mick McCarthy, and old footage of Keane walking his dog repeated over and over.

The word 'rattled' is rife within sports reporting these days. Ryle Nugent can't get through 80 minutes of a rugby match without spurting it out.

Cringeworthy stuff.
Got the impression that the locals were laughing at the so called 1400 paddies that went to each home game and I wouldn't blame them. What a joke.
Absolutely nothing new. TV3 are a sinking ship.

Not just laughing at them either, some real contempt there from the locals. I noticed TV3 didn't focus on this.
Incidentally, is that pub in the backstreets behind Larry Tompkins still an "Official Sunderland Pub"?

Why do people single out the Sundireland fans for ridicule and leave off the likes of Irish ManYoo and Liverpool fans etc.? It's the same kind of stupidity, it's just been going on for longer. The country is a fecking laughing stock over there because of the whole lot of them.

Don't you support Liverpool?
Both of those teams had big connections here for years and didn't try to build their club on these new bandwagoners, in fact both were huge clubs anyway way back
Liverpool and Utd fans have been going over there for years, Sunderland 'so called' fans only started going over since Keane took over, it's a bit funny too you'll have to admit..
Only seen previous post now..already explained.. note edit..
Sunderland also specifically set out to target the Irish supporters market with pre-season friendlies etc, whereas Liverpool and Utd's fanbase in Ireland has been built up through years of success, with European and domestic titles, with many Irish players on those sides.
Sunderland was a bit more of an 'all of a sudden thing', lets follow Sunderland, Keanos in charge and he's bought a load of Paddies.

I remember a similar thing happening with Aston Villa circa 93/94. they had four players playing for the Republic, McGrath, Staunton, Townsend and Houghton, so a lot of fellas started supporting them for that reason. They even beat Manyoo in the league cup

Indeed, if i remember correctly the English media used to call them Aston O'Villa.
