Think your missing the point of us attending ;)
In order to galvanise the clubs into realising that the supporters are SERIOUSLY pissed and the fact we were NOT saturday shoppers will make them just that bit more willing to stand up and fight.
Got to lead from the front, poor delegates need to be shown that the supporters are not willing to let this farce continue forever.
Time to ratchet up the pressure once more.

I suggest those who are members of clubs (no doubt the majority) wear their club colours as well. ie. cork jersey, club jacket or vice versa. Distinctive club flags should be welcome too....

Exactly, I do not believe that this march will do anything to take from mandated decisions already made by the clubs. If I did, I wouldn't be involved in it.

What does dress code rebel mean?
and what is the march on the pairc going to do?
the ccb will think that its just for the match that people are there

Dress code - rebel = anything red, jersies, t-shirts etc etc
What it will do.............come along and find out........

Not to sure Corcaigh. Might make more sense if all the 10K made sure they were signed up members of their clubs and get their voices heard there. All we need is to read the rule book from back to front and we will manage to change things. Some people might want to go to the football match, and not sure how that is anti the hurlers, if the footballers have said they will join them after the league if it isn't sorted out.

How is this a protest? A huge turnout for the game, and a huge boost to CCB coffers, fans dressed in rebel colours - isn't this going to be spun as "real cork fans" supporting the CCB???
Why not have everybody dress in black. It would certainly make an impact.

Agreed. We probably all have different ideas on approaches, but we have to line up behind one approach even if we might quibble with it for very valid reasons. These guys did a great job the last time. We have to as individuals make a major effort to get all the supporters who did not make it the last time to come out this time. Remember the weather is a risk so we have to make a major effort to get people committed in advance to turn out. Please do everything you can to get any people you know who are pro the 08 panel to commit to you to attend this.

Not a great idea I think. For one, I dislike giving any money to the CCB, and more importantly any such march will almost certainly have a lot less numbers then last time. This will make it look like the players are losing support, and the whole march will be too easily spun by the CCB.
Wait and see what the clubs say I think, and then act.

I won't be paying any money to the CCB either, they will be laughing. Combover and his gang are in it for the money and control, paying to go into the gates is to their benefit. If nobody pays to atend any cork gaa game it will have a far greater impact. I won't be attending any Cork games until this is sorted

They already have millions, do you think another few grand will matter to them
It's the problem with this - except for a few Championship games in the summer nobody goes to games anyway.
I think it would be a great demonstration if a few thousand people turned up chanting MURPHY OUT
But I can't see it happening. Cork people just don't like going to games unless it is an event.

FFS lads quit the negativity and just start spreading the word about the march. We need to stick together and now it's even more important then ever!
And if your still unsure, as i was about giving any cash to Frank, just think the €15 euro now might be well worth it if we get that prick out.
If we don't get him out there's a hell of a lot of Cork people who'll be keeping their cash in their pockets come championship time.....

Count me in for this. €15 won't be missed come September. Our footballers and hurlers will if we don't keep the pressure up.
Just remember the comments made about the 'real' Cork supporters being down the park for the Dublin game. The rest of us were 'shopping'. Makes my blood boil. Cheeky f**kers.
So onwards an upwards folks. Get the word out and gather the troops.

I REALLY don't like giving that shower (CCB) ANY money, like a few others have said too.
However, I would like to support the footballers and give them the courage to support our hurlers.
How about turning the €15 into a protest also somehow?
I don't know how it would work, what about -
Write "Frank Murphy Out" on the notes?
Make your views about the CCB known to the ticket sellers in a non- aggressive way?
Leave something in the Pairc e.g. a postcard saying "Bring back our hurlers"
What do ye think?
Corcaigh and the boys will come up with great ideas, I know. I just think that we should use every opportunity to protest while we're there, and if we're going to be giving Frank our dosh, we should get our money's worth! :-)

it's worth the €15 to do so, if they feel so disgruntled they can hand in the money in copper cents, or damage the notes of some kind.
We need to make it clear also that we are there to support the 08 panel and not the current crop.

Exellent idea to piss them off but they might insist on counting it and thereby hold everybody else up!
I dont think its fair either to say "stop the negativity" about the protest. Doesnt every langer have an opinion? I mentioned it to people last night and the reaction wasn't as enthusiastic as it was for the march which is understandable.
CCB and Casey Communications will spin the crowd numbers no doubt (I wouldnt expect 10,000) but it should be looked at, as a different type of event.

I have said before I don't like the idea of giving a single penny to Cork GAA until this is resolved, so I won't be going to the football game Sunday. I don't think it will be the best way of making a protest, but good luck to the rest of you who go. Has the idea of organising a match of the 08 squad 15 v 15 in some venue, with a small charge to get in been put forward, could probably get some media attention, if we got more than the 600 that showed up today it would make a statement, it would also help to raise money for the 08 squads campaign, and would give the lads a chance to play a match of sorts in front of their supporters.

lads,
I was thinking last night and I think that 2pm is too late to start the march to the pairc and get everyone in safely into the game, which starts at 2:30pm.
If there is as big a crowd as we all hope, then there isn't a hope in hell you'll get everyone into the uncovered stand in anything less than 20 minutes, if they open the usual number of turnstiles that they do normally for league games. Remember C32, we have to be respectful to the footballers and other fans wishing to attend the match aswell... A crowd arriving late is far from respectful in my honest opinion. Potentially cramming that number of people into the antique that is the Pairc in that short a time, logistically could be better...
I'm trying to remember if the gates in the tunnel were open all the way around from the covered stand under through the blackrock end for the Meath match, can anybody confirm?

This whole fiasco has gone beyond Ger Mac and the whole fucking over of the hurlers. I want Murphys head on a plate. 35 years is too long. He has to go.
BRILLIANT Idea! I'm doing that with all my money!!!!

I would say about 5,000 would be a good turnout
That will be about 10 times as many people as there are supporting Frankeen

Plenty of radio and TV coverage - the worst thing that can happen is that the whole issue of the Cork Hurling saga doesn't get any publicity (Good or bad). Keep it and the march in the news, EVERY RADIO STATION, TV if poss and every newspaper, (Don't care about recent spin) parish newsletters, girl guides flyers - the lot!!!

You know the way many of us have Cork flags/colours on our cars for Cork games, and club flags/colours on our cars for club games.
I suggest that we (especially those of us driving in from outside the city) drive in with Cork flags/colours on one side of the car and club colours on the other side. To my way of thinking, charging in the N22 with my county colours and my club colours flying, alongside others similarly donned would symbolically capture the emotion of the event.
(be careful driving tho)

Just a thought, how about putting a couple of people at the covered stand entrance with a sign asking supporters of the 08 hurlers to please go to the uncovered stand.
Sign can tell people the exact details of the protest, that the people in the uncovered stand will be 100% supporting the footballers and that only at half-time & full-time will there be a vocal protest against the CCB.
The less people in the covered stand compared to the uncovered the better.
Great work by the way C32.

Inbox has space - as for putting people near the covered stand - I have reservations about that - we are not there to make anyone do anything they don't want to and I do not want to be seen to be in any way co-ercing or cajoling anyone. People will know the drill in relation to the covered stand on Sunday, unless it is lashing rain anyone who is at Kennedy Park for orientation will know what the craic is so I think we will be ok.

Great work, Corky. The way things are panning out I don't feel we need worry about standing too close to the covered stand. We are living the Chinese curse, to live in interesting times. There is such a groundswell of passion rising that I believe at the end of this year's Championship the proudest boast you will hear is " I was in the uncovered stand on the 8th of March".

Hello all
Firstly Let me congratulate all on the incredible work being done here.
Secondly - Would it be an idea for all protesters to wear there club jersey or Track suit and if your not a current club member either borrow one or maybe wear plain white or black. Just think the likes of O2 etc wouldn't be impressed with the lack of Cork Jerseys. and it also shows support for our clubs looking to take back control.
Its worth considering.

Hi lads was at the des bishop gig in vicar st the other night. was a very good show but the highlight for me was when Des had a rant about the dirty pricks (my words not his in fairness!) that booed him at the awards for his support of the hurlers again asking how they felt about the whole thing now that the clubs had had their say. Apart from a few of us exiled rebels cheering loudly the rest of the dubs sat there in sheepish silence. He also said he was driving down to Cork in the morning to march before going back upto Dublin for the evening gig.
Its shaping up to be an excellent weekend for an exile, down for the march and the old alma mater UCC winning the Fitz should give me some bragging rights working in Trinity!

Human nature lad, I actually have gone to the footballers last 2 games but if you want to paint it differently away you go, I don't really care! I agree with you it would be great if 50000 people went to all National League Games, AIL games, LOI games, Race meetings or whatever and our sports would all be in better shape if they did. But the fact is there are a lot of people who will go the all-ireland finals, heineken cup finals, old trafford, cheltenham or whatever. As far as I am concerned, people can do whatever they want with their time and money, and I'll do whatever I want with mine.
And on your point about the rest of the country, any Cork person living in dublin will tell you they have been getting jibes about the dispute EVERY FECKING DAY for the last four months but I'm actually prouder than ever before as a Corkman that our people are standing up for themselves and their causes and investing their time, energy and money in a communal thing they believe in at a time when the whole country is becoming more self serving by the day.
And regarding Des Bishop, you have completely contradicted yourself. If publicity was the thing here, why would he bother if "the rest of the country couldn't give a shit"?
