I'm interested in learning Irish, as I grew up in London this was one aspect of Irish culture I'm not too familiar with, apart from one or two phrases I know no Irish at all, any one know of a class in London/Essex area?

I have a friend living in London who is a teacher. She is not an Irish teacher but she's quite good at it anyway. I'll see if she's interested and let you know!

Failing that, or on top of it, get hold of turas teanga, a three cd set at intermediate level, in English and Irish.
Or the teach yourself Irish cds at beginner level.
There's plenty of stuff on the web to get a feel for the sound of it
rnag.ie for radio and podcasts
tg4.tv for online live tv and archived programs
focal.ie is a good online dictionary
