Cork, winners of more senior All Ireland's than any other county. Cork the only county to do the double. Cork the only county to do the female double. Cork the only county getting to at least August in both codes every year. Cork home of Christy Ring, the greatest hurler to ever live. Cork the home of Roy Keane, the greatest Irish soccer player to ever live (and I mean including Best). Cork, where going along for the pints, losing and having a big party for losing is NOT how we do things. Cork the home of Michael Collins (whether your pro or anti treaty the guy who brought the Brits to the table). Cork where the Black and Tans were beating the sh%t out of, while the Dubs were bending over and takin it royally in the Dublin Castle.......
We understand that not being from Cork is a problem for people but we can't all be from Cork - so grow up and f%ckin deal with it, ya jackeen muppet.

You should be sent around to schools in Cork to give talks!
I love all these "would ye ever just shut up with yer strikes" crowd. It makes me feel a million times better about myself. At least as a Corkman, when I'm on my death bed, I'll know I stood up for what is right. You cowards and simpletons from other counties are weak spirited. You should be on your knees thanking us for the country's independence.

By jays*s, the stuff i`m reading here only confirms why the 31 other counties consider ye a laughing stock.
1. talking about betting against yer own county when they play Dublin - turncoats
2. Callin the young lads scabs even though they are doing their best and training hard for the good of the county -
3. picking on a good hurling man Gerald McCarthy who is sticking by his principles and subjecting him to personal abuse. Do you all forget this man has won All-Irelands for ye in the past & given a lifetime to the sport.
Ye really are about as far removed from genuine sportspeople as you can get. Scumbags.

Now now that's 2 or 3 messages from one of the lads pissing on the gunpowder without mentioning 'ye only had one rebel and ye shot him in the back.' Carry on down this line and your'e in danger of saying something original.

It's not lies.. lies is a bit strong.
Maybe an exaggeration but the sentiment is correct.
If you take Cork out of the AISHC or the AISFC
it is completely demeaned.

Cork at the moment are no addition to any championship. The GAA should turf them out and let them tear each other to pieces. At the moment Cork are giving the fine game of huring a bad name.

Now now smelly, we Cork people are pretty darn good at "huring".
We're not bad at hurling either when the mood takes us...

"Plus the only rebel ye ever had ye shot "
Following the hurling threads for a long time, which are excellent and a great way for us exiles to keep up to date. I feel bad for giving the above quote the oxygen of publicity, but as it's so often quoted by the "christy ring/jack lynch must be turning in their grave brigade" i feel obliged to point out that Tomas MacCurtain, Terence mc Sweeney, and those that gave their lives at Kilmichael, Crossbarry, Clonmult and other places did so that even an ignoramus like this has the right to say what he wants in public.
I hope youre proud of how you are using these freedoms, cat.

I was hoping this thread would disappear way down the list
and by responding to your comments I'm aware that I'm keeping it relevant for far longer than it should be..
But I have to say:
Here here.. what an excellent post.. fair play
We are Cork! We Are Rebels! We Are Proud!

Since when in the history of the GAAH have Kilkenny worried about the Football Championship.
More often than not ye couldn't find sufficient players to line out against mighty teams like Wicklow, Carlow or even Wexford(who have made an effort in the "big ball game").
No wonder your women always look "down in the mouth"!
