it's a reflection on society Mick. Sky have everyones brains filled with it. Supporting "your" team is very important to the average Irish man nowadays!

Sorry Mick.
But, it's swings and roundabouts.
When munster embarassed themselves by claiming a moral victory against the NZ 3rd team and Arland were getting hockeyed by any southern hemisphere clique that weren't dying with a hangover of a saturday, it was all rogby.
Keane staying true to form swung it back to soccer.
Something else will happen that will take the attention soon.

And every now and again, an exposure thread will see bandwagonners of all codes scurrying for cover.

I'd love a good christmas exposure thread.

I'm from Ireland.
Not a Manc.
Not a Scouser.
Not a Mackem.
Not a Gooner.
I'm Irish.
I live in a world of comely maidens dancing at crossroads.
It's beautiful.

Americans call it soccer, Irish call it soccer, Aussies call it soccer.

Mark Vaughan, the dub footballer, calls soccer football and football gaelic.

Its called football Mick

Football is what Kerry got beaten in last September above in Croke Park.

Soccer AM is the name of Sky Sports saturday morning soccer themed variety show, which is on before Soccer Saturday.

By the way, I wasn't making a funny. There's nothing sadder than Irish men calling each other scousers, mancs and cockneys and being 100% serious about it, all from their barstool in Blackpool or Togher.

A couple of fellas on here before supported rival London soccer clubs, and they used regularly say "we're all London."

couldn't agree more but i have never in my life heard those references from any of my friends or in any pub i frequent in the northside and would be physically sick if someone referred to someone else as a scoucer or a manc. that is just ridiculous...

The most popular of these sports worldwide is association football, also known as "soccer" and most commonly just "football".

There's an awful lot of them.

tis a shame alright mick.

find myself more and more reading/posting on boards.ie simply because theres a greater range of sports discussed.

i consider myself a sports fan and have adequate knowledge of most to at least hold a discussion.

i simply cant be bothered contributing to the majority of threads here although i do get enjoyment out the occasional rugby thread.

Too many threads are started

Some people start threads at the drop of a hat

It's particularly frustrating having to re-own people by making the same point in other threads!

Some of the long running threads like the main Keane one and some of the rugby ones are a great laugh

We need to possibly improve the housekeeping Sheriff naff may be the man to set us straight

headwrecking!!!!!

the official threads work ok, most regular posters will use these or at least do a basic search for a thread that may be related to what they want to post about
