I am interested in going to a Munster game for the 1st time.My young lad has been asking me to take him.I have never been a big fan of the game by the way.Can someone tell me is there any chance i would be able to get a ticket to a Heineken cup game.Obviously i am not a member of a Rugby club and i have no contacts in one either that i know of.I would love the chance to go to the Munster/Sale game in January. So can someone tell me have i any hope of getting a couple of these tickets?

I wouldnt mind getting these myself so let me know how you get on. Obviously it would help to have a contact in a rugby club but I think Heineken cup tickets would be extremely difficult to get your hands on

I am going to start asking around and i will let you know how i get on.

Buy him a hurley instead.

He has one already. He has already joined the local soccer and GAA clubs. Now he wants to see some Rugby. No harm in letting him decide what is his favourite. He is only a young nipper.

Unless you're a member of a rugby club or the munster supporters club, the tickets are very hard to come by for the Heineken cup. Your local rugby club would be the best place to start I guess.

be careful poison as you will be accused of bandwagon jumping. they are fairly sad on here that way. i'd say you haven't much hope of a ticket but sure you would never know. great to see the little fella is interested in all sports. he will have some chance of staying clear of the bad things in life and less chance of becoming a crack head...

No worry of that with me duffer as i could not care less what a few people that dont know me think.

I have wanted to go to a Munster game now for a while so i am glad the small guy has showed interest.I do not really expect to get a Heineken Cup ticket but i will try and if it does not work i will go to a Magners league game in Musgrave Park with him.

Kids who take an interest in any sport should be encouraged.

Ignore the begrudgers and you would never know a ticket might show up.

Enjoy.

couldn't agree more poison. the best way to get a ticket id say is travel down and hope you pick one up while not getting fleeced but i would imagine the small fella would get the same buzz from a magners league game as he wouldnt be 100% in the know or would he?

He would not mind which game it was as he would not know the difference really but his dad would like to see the Heineken cup game alright..:)

I would not travel down unless i had a ticket for fear of him being dissapointed.

None of my business, but why not take him to an AIL game where he could get closer to the action and he wouldn't be mobbed by event attenders?

Yeah, you can't beat the atmosphere at a packed Thomond park, remember my oul lad taking me in to see games there as a youngster, it was great!

Still go to the games with him 20 years later.

On the ball edmund. Or even better take your young fella to watch your local club. It won't cost you and you can follow the play up and down the sideline.

The next game with available tickets is against Ulster on the 3rd of Jan in limerick.

I'm looking forward to it, haven't been to the new Thomond yet. The Ulster fans are usually good craic and Ulster have really come on in leaps and bounds over the past month.

There's also the option of the match against Connacht in Galway on the 28th.

Tickets for both matches are handy enough to get at this stage:
Connacht tickets (getting close to sold out): http://www.connachtrugby.ie/content/view/81691/31/
Ulster tickets: http://munsterrugby.ie/421_33.php
Pretty reasonable, €22 for a terrace ticket and €7 for a schoolboy's. IMO, the terrace is the only way to go.

I have a stand ticket for the match today and unfortunately something has come up and I'm unable to go if someone would like to buy it from me...

No harm in letting him decide...

Is it any wonder this country is in recession
