Would Cork have any success if they apointed a football coach from another county who picks players on how good they are and not as things stand who they are and what club they play for ? We have got the most clubs and the most players in the country and yet we have won only 3 All Irelands in over 50 years what is the reason for this poor showing it has got to be coaching setup

btw when was the last time we won a All Ireland before 1973 ?

or it could be that winning football All Irelands is a hard thing to do. What players are on the current team because of their club name?

Where are we in the grand scheme of things over the last number of years?

One final and several semi finals in consecutive years, but very few consider us to be a top 4 team.

In those years we have only been beaten by Kerry who most rank as being in the top 1 or 2 teams.

Forgetting the paltry number of titles we have, where exactly do we stand?

Why not ?

Plenty of capable men within thats why. The problem isn't the standard of coaches, its who is & who isn't in favour with the county board. The same for our hurlers.

Name 4 teams better than Cork. Kerry & Tyrone are the easy 2. Its something the pundits dont think about.

I'd have taken an All Ireland final defeat after Kerry beat Galway. Why? It would have been a major hoodoo off the backs of those involved with Cork to finally beat Kerry above in Croke Park. Considering the injuries & regular changes to the team this year as well as it being CC's 1st year as coach, beating Kerry in Croke Park even though not winning Sam would have represented progress.

If I was a Cork footballer I wouldn't want to play for someone
from Tyrone/Kerry/Armagh/Dublin/Galway/Mayo..

Football is a very simple game.

3 since 1945 is miserable.. agreed
but during that period Kerry won 8 from ten finals in a twelve year period alone.. we played and play in a province with the team that has won more titles than Cork/Galway/Meath/Tyrone/Armagh/Mayo and Donegal combined...

They're very difficult to win..
