Statement from Cork City Football Club Examiner - 19 September 2008

The examiner appointed to Cork City Football Club, Kieran McCarthy, has received a number of expressions of interest from potential investors in the club.

Mr. McCarthy is now seeking further information from a short-list of parties prior to deciding who the successful bidder will be.

Mr. McCarthy expects to be in a position to make a decision in this regard in the coming week.

No further comment on the process will be made by either the examiner or Cork City Football club until the successful bidder has been notified and certainty regarding the investment in the Club is forthcoming.

I expected news of a bid being accepted or something but you only regurgitate what has been around since lat week

Take a chill pill there Alan, i was only trying to help. I work in a radio station and this statement actually just came in 30 minutes ago - not last week. I'm going outside now to disembowel myself for upsetting you with such stale news. Jesus biy, relax. You must be very angry

haha.. i understand alans reaction though - city fans are biting nails at the mo and your title suggested you had solid news on a successful bid.. the old ticker took a little skip when i saw it too... the content of your mail is a week old
