Looking to head to a game over there in the new year. Chelsea at the end of Jan, Arsenal in mid April or Meseyside derby at Anfield in mid jan are the ones that jump out for obvious reasons. any one have experience booking with travel agents/tour operators in the past? if so, who gives the best deals? what are the chances of just heading over there and picking up a ticket for a reasonable price before kick off?getting a ticket for the Kop offically?(no chance?) is there a service out there to purchase game tickets and organise the getting to and staying in liverpool yourself.

experiences/advice/information would be muchos appreciated

cheers

For the big games unless you know someone who will get you tickets you will be alright,

You will have no chance to get a ticket via the club unless you are a PTS member

best chance you have is to book a package deal which will cost you quite a bit, but if its only a one off then you'll be grand

If you just go over on the off chance the touts will fleece you, (plus the ticket may be fake/stolen)

you just have to be patient when ringing the ticket office as you could be on the phone for about 3/4 hours if you actually get through at all, if ya want to go regularly then this is the way(about 650 euro's for a package deal, fuck that) to go or you could try by post but your timing has to be spot on or sign up for an e-season ticket and try to get them online but there are only about 500 available as far as i know, got 2 tickets meself to the stoke game and heading over with my sis, hoping for a 5-0 thrashing :D

probably looks like that alright.

ronnie whelan's volley against russia in euro 88 was what warped my 6 year old mind into thinking his club were a safe bet. and so i became a liverpool supporter. how wrong i was.

anyway,
carry on. thats enough of me justifying a post

It might be worth chatting to Rooney & Scholes..they got free tickets to the last game at Anfield and didn't seem to do anything to justify them!

Might be hard to find Premiership medals but there's bound to be a few tickets floating around:)

Afternoon all.

Bit of a long shot but I'm planning on heading up to the Liverpool-v-City game at the weekend with 3 friends but despite all of us hammering the phone line when they went on general sale none of us have managed to source any tickets so far.

Anyone have any contact who could help us out?

We'd prefer not to go down the tout route (1. They are very often fakes & 2. I hate encouraging those scabby f*ckers) if at all possible.

long shot indeed..... talked to my mate but his 3 tickets are gone,

there is a group of 5 of my mates coming over for the game, (i'm the back up, if one of them pulls outs i'll be jumping on the train saturday morning)

touts, its always 50/50 with them, seen it a few times, people get the tickets off them, go to the match, other people come in with the same seat no., but the tickets stamped duplicate..

only once have i bought off a tout, the fuckers.... up until about 15 mins into the game i was expecting someone to come in with a ticket stamped duplicate

I hear ya. Want to avoid touts if at all possible but reckon we might have to go down that route. Recent results have cranked up demand big-time for this game, having no luck through anyone who usually has a sniff of tickets.

Any tips on how to spot fakes if we go down the tout route?

not too many paper tickets anymore as most of the season tickets and pts members just scan their cards,

the real tickets are slightly rounded at the corners.
The problem is the paper tickets the touts have are not fake, just stolen, then they are reported stolen by someone and replacement tickets stamped duplicate are issued.
(this might also be a bit of a scam methinks)

First port of call. Ticket office as early as you can. They sometimes get some returns on the day of the game.

if that fails - ask about in the pubs.

if that fails - Touts opperate mainly by the albert and by the flagpole corner on the breck road. You can spot em a mile off. They'll walk up and down the street asking for any spares. They often buy em cheap on the day and try and flog them on. So beat the tout to the genuine fan simply looking to sell his spare. If you malinger by the paisley gates your should find either the genuine seller or the tout.

Course the closer to kick off the more desperate the touts become and the more the price drops.

check the ticket before you part with your cash - should have a detachable stub bit/hologram. Sounds obvious like but I have seen touts trying to flog to japenese tourists the old spare vouchers from the old season ticket books(this was many a year ago). Check the date of the ticket - ensure its not a unsed ticket from last year.

Like i said though most tickets available are genuine ones that touts have managed to pick up off sellers in town or at the ground.

happy hunting.

Hi all,

I know this is my first post but i'm in a bit of a jam. I'm headin over to liverpool for the villa game in a few weeks and my mate is using his PTS tickets he usually give me when i go over.

If anyone on here is willing to part with two tickets for this game i will pay up to €200 for a pair.

I can meet to buy anywhere in Cork city.

Cheers!

What a waste of money!

If Liverpool were playing out the back garden I'd close the curtains.

Was it meant to be ironic or something that you just quoted Bill Shankly there and changed the word Everton to Liverpool.

Nice one fella, ironically the mini collapse (Citeh @ home, Boro away) really worked in your favour. It would've been mayhem on the phone lines if Liverpool had taken 6 points from those two games.

It probably helped but it was no quick phone call. I counted the redial attempts at 73. All in all about 90mins between first attempt and tickets.

Villa should be a good game :D
