Barry Murphy is one of Ireland’s genuine comedy treasures. He co-created Soupy Norman, co-founded Mr Trellis and The Comedy Cellar Club, wrote and performed "Melty Hughes' Olympics" and is one third of the national institution that is Apres Match, amongst many other things. In between playing golf he’s currently writing a new show called ‘20 years of Lying’ though we hope it’s not going to be 30 or 40 years of lying by the time it sees the light of day.

Subtly mischievous.always teasing, this clever comic works the audience like a chin-wagging barman - The Scotsman

Other TV appearances include “The Liffey Laughs” for RTE television and “One Night Stand-Up” for BBC TV and he has also guested on BBC Radio’s, “The Blame Game”.

Dermot, however, is especially proud of his acting success. He appeared in the 2003 Irish film comedy classic “Spin the Bottle” as Garda number 2. He had two lines: “C’mon now, Son” and “Move out of the way there, Son”. Genius.
