From another website:
I just heard from a Clyda supporter that the brother of the Clyda Goalie was found dead lasy night suddenly. He is only 16 and it was from a ashma attack (RIP)
They requested the game tonight to be postponed and got agreement from Glanmire who would play it next week instead. The County Board have refused them. This to me is despicable act from the county board who have shown a complete lack of integrity and respect to a player and his teammates!
This is what the county board really think of the players. I will bet you every last cent i own there won't be a word from the players union about this.

i find that very hard to believe that the game will go ahead. if i was a Clyda player then i wouldn't even show up for this game agreeing with Glanmire not to show up either.

Nothing surprises me any more with our County Board! They are a poisionus element of society who have lost touch with the human element of life! It is a power game with them!
They shouldn't be a question of this game going off !

It's Gach Uile Liathroid, if you're gonna constantly reference it to beat the GPA and Cork players with it you may as well get it right.
This very sad situation is a matter for the county board, has nothing whatsoever to do with the GPA, yes you have a problem with them, we get it.

In 1991 we were playing the county junior hurling final against Aghada. One of our players fathers died on the Saturday before the game. The board refused to postpone the game. They quote only the death of a player or a club officer will result in the postponing of the game. It's a shit rule but its one they stick to ridgidly. My deepest sympathies to that Clyda players family on the death of that young lad. RIP. As to Scrumpy its again the club delegates who can change this ruling. But as we've seen earlier in the year they are all spineless.

RIP and my sympathies to all involved with Clyda, they're a well run small club who've punched above their weight for years.
Can't see why anybody is surprised as to the boards reaction though, it's definitely not the first time we've seen something like this happen.
P.S
This has zero to do with the GPA scrumpy so stop using someones death as a cheap way to score points. Bad form.

Was at the game last night. Clyda lost by a point, and if they had Kissane they would have definitely won!
The goalie was listed on the team sheet, but of course he didn't play, ridiculous.... they were only sheets of A4 paper, wouldn't you think that someone would have the cop on to print up a new set!!

I was also at the game and it saddened me to see that poor young fella rushing off to his brothers rosary after the game, i was told afterwards that he delayed it by an hour so that he could support his teammates from the sideline.
The county board should be very very ashamed of themselves!

be fair. the lad was given all the time he wanted to decide if he wanted to play or not.

Lads as ye know I have zero time for the county board but I feel this isnt a case that we should be using against them. A family have suffered much more than a lost championship match this week & although we believe that the game should have been postponed, we shouldnt be discussing this matter so openly in a public forum.
I'm beginning to sound very Rebel GAA
Some lad involved with some Cork team - Club game postponed
Some personal tragedy affecting a club player - Club game goes ahead
Standard CCB shite

Why should it be deleted? It is letting people know outside of the loop the poision that are running our games.
To make this worse, ronan curran hasn't played all year for the barrs and has a serious injury and wont be playing. The barrs have other players on holidays!

Because its using a family's heartbreak in losing a son/brother to make a point about the county board that all the clued in folk on here already know.
As for the Barrs I've heard they're splashing the cash on holiday rearangements.
