Ive sat through some shite up da cross but Rico was always seen to be managing the team.Mathews is more of a spectator never have we given
away so many leads to end up with draws at home.On tuesday it was obvious that carney was off his game from the start he kept giving the ball away was he subed off yea with 5 minutes to go and our lead gone.
Its time for Mathews to either shit or get off the pot.

How about giving him a chance ? He's not a miracle worker. Also, what do you want him to do, jump around the place roaring his head off at the players ? He talks to them before the game and at half time, it's up to them after that.

As for Kearney, he's having a good season and he was very brave in going for the ball the other night for his goal.

not a miracle worker???????

he inherited a succesfull team and they are doing worse that last year, you make it sound like he just took over cobh ramblers.

and more to the point what the fuck are you doing out the cross, following a shite team, owned by a load of english that fired the best asset they had.

Hilarious quote from the back of today's Echo in an article about City: "....the club's wealthy owner's Arkaga"
I haven't seen much evidence of their supposed "wealth" so far, we've signed nothing but dross in the last three years.

from the City games I've seen this season I think that some players on the team think far too highly of themselves and don't do the dirty work required.

Agreed, it looks like some players have gone that way.

Wrong, City have three points more this year than after the same amount of games last year. I don't expect to win the league this year, top 3 is what i'd expect. I have patience and i don't expect instant success, Mathews needs at least a season to put his squad together, get rid of the dead wood (Softic etc.) and bring in who he wants.

As for your last comment, i follow my local team, that's why i go out to the cross, that's why i went to Derry for the weekend to watch my team and witness one of the most extraordinary games i've ever seen. 2-0 down and coming back to win 3-2 away from home, nothing beats that feeling, 600+ miles round trip and a screamer of a winner in the last few minutes. That's why i follow City.

Also they are not owned by English people, that company is English but the people who actually run the club are from Ireland.

Yeah, Rico signed some shite players alright. Mathews however has brought in some top quality players : Georgie (8 goals), Mooney (7 goals), Sullivan (looks like a great player, slotted in nicely at centre back) Danny Murphy (great player). So yeah we've really signed some dross as you say.

City do seem to have started the last few seasons relatively slowly, then spend the rest of it playing catchup. Wonder why?

This is slightly off the point but I admire users like ccfc1984 for following a team around like that. I moved away from Cork for a while and when I log on and see pictures of Corkonians celebrating Manchester United's win at the fountain it makes me feel glad that there are people like you out there night after night roaring on your local team.

Hopefully Mathews and some of the players will cop on sooner rather than later.
