according to SKY sports News this will be the first time that the Champions League final will be contested between two teams from the same country.
what happened in 2003 when AC Milan faced Juventus ???
God bless Ian Rush, but when he moved to JUVE he said it "was like playing in a different country"

I don't know but it's a well-known fact that football did not exist pre-1992 though if that's any help.

Nah Philbers, we're closing in on 17 now, so in a couple of years time we'll be pushing the anti-post 1992 Sky agenda just as hard as you lot do.
Some dilemma on who to face. I've said Pool would get through all along, and I think they will. On paper, I'd probably (just) prefer to face them, but in a one-off game, you'd have to worry that Rafa could buck the trend.
Which, put simply, would be the end of the world.

I don't think any side would relish facing any Benitez side in a one-off game esp when he'd have the luxury of 3 weeks to hole himself up in a dark room analysing stats & thinking up of the perfect strategy down to boot colour and shoelace thinkness!
To be honest if Liverpool get through tonight it'll be a horrible wait until the final & the match itself will be torture to watch & the press hype would be ridiculous...wouldn' t be able to enjoy one moment of it but as a Liverpool its the best I can hope for the way things have panned out.
Just can't see Liverpool making it though. Their chance has come and gone.

Just can't see Liverpool making it though. Their chance has come and gone. Your pessimism almost matches mine. I see it being 1-1 at 90 mins tomorrow. And if i'm right in that, then there'll only be one winner. Upshot? Our old friend CARNAGE!

I would take 1-1 after 90 mins in a shot and think Liverpool would be well-placed to go on and win it from there but as I said, I think our chance is gone. Having said that with quality like Gerrard, Torres and Kuyt (spot the odd one out) in your side anything can happen. I just think it takes a hell of a lot to put the ball past Cech and I doubt Liverpool will create enough positions to make one count...but what the fcuk do I know.
