Bremen keeper handed them the tie in both legs. Smith's done well with a poor squad. Celtic have the better squad but the wrong men in charge. Fans are still a horrible breed mind.
P.S. It's not these two/three is it?

Oh, father why are you so sad
On this fair Easter morn’
When Irish men are proud and glad
Of the land where they were born?
Oh, son, I see in mem’ry's view
A far off distant day
When being just a lad like you
I joined the IRA.
Where are the lads that fought with me
When history was made?
A Ghra Mo Chroi, I long to see
The boys of the old brigade.
From hills and farms a call to arms
Was heard by one and all.
And from the glen came brave young men
To answer Ireland’s call.
T'was long ago we faced the foe,
The old brigade and me,
And by my side they fought and died
That Ireland might be free.
Where are the lads that stood with me
When history was made?
A Ghra Mo Chroi, I long to see
The boys of the old brigade.
And now, my boy, I’ve told you why
On Easter morn’ I sigh,
For I recall my comrades all
And dark old days gone by.
I think of men who fought in glen
With rifle and grenade.
May heaven keep the men who sleep
From the ranks of the old brigade.
Where are the lads that stood with me
When history was made?
A Ghra Mo Chroi, I long to see
The boys of the old brigade.

Remember last year?
Do Cork based fans of Rangers give the salute too?
Wednesday, February 21, 2007
Rangers could be in serious trouble over one hand salutes in Israel
Rangers could be in a lot of trouble with UEFA over one hand salutes made by a section of their fans during last week’s UEFA Cup tie against Hapoel Tel Aviv in Israel.
Rangers chief executive Martin Bain has urged fans not to make any such gestures when the two sides meet Thursday in the return leg at Ibrox.
“The photographs in question show a small number of Rangers fans in Tel-Aviv making one-arm salute gestures. Some Rangers fans continue to give ‘Red Hand’ salutes which the club and the vast majority of supporters discourage because they will be misinterpreted.
We have regularly consulted with our supporters groups and they have said they are doing everything they can to prevent this.
We have repeatedly made clear that fans should not make any gestures that can be misinterpreted and we are urging all fans attending the game tomorrow night to remember the potential consequences.”
It now remains to be seen if UEFA accept Bain’s explanation and Rangers escape severe sanctions because the gestures were Red Hand salutes that may have been misinterpreted as Nazi ones.
One particular problem in the Bain analysis is the actual meaning of the Red Hand salute and its origins. The best description I have been able to find is here.
It’s first appearance at Ibrox seems to have been in the 1980’s, coinciding with the introduction of the extreme right wing “Chelsea bootboys’” unofficial friendship with Rangers.
Terry Last, a soccer hooligan and a leading figure of both the head-hunters and the National Front, also played a role in the rise of this disgusting symbol and dragged England’s national support to an all time low when he was pictured displaying the salute whilst “on tour” with England not long before his arrest and imprisonment in connection with his hooligan activities. Following his trial Last was labelled “Little Hitler of the Soccer Thugs” by the English media.....
A good piece of advice is also offered:
If you see anyone, intentionally or unintentionally, contributing to the use of Nazi salutes within Ibrox, or any other ground where Rangers fans’ are in attendance, do the right thing and politely question why, within Britain’s’ shores’ are they saluting and displaying support for one of the most evil dictatorships in world history, that had they achieved there goal, would have destroyed Great Britain, a union which is sacred to many within our own support.
Most probably, their reply will be, its not a Nazi salute, it’s a Red Hand. It’s time to educate the uneducated, make it clear to the idiots that this mythical Red Hand Salute does not exist and it has no place amoungst a Rangers support that we are extremely proud of.

Did the lads have a good day yesterday? How Thomson wasn't sent off is beyond me. Hope the poor lad is ok, you can do yourself an awful injury when you dive from such a height. Dougal had a shocker again. Celtic didn't deserve it though and despite his dive late on he was excellent.
A return to the mid 90s. Not seen Celtic this far away from them in a long time. Strachan out.
Linfield fans had a good day by all accounts.

That video got me thinking.
Is Scotland, Ireland-lite, now I'm not talking about Arland and ROG and all those West Brits spawned by the celtic tiger here, but Gaelic Ireland.
Looking at those lightweight scots there singing about making Edward "think again", its actually rather embarrasing. We actually drove those c*nts out, we kept trying to over the centuries even after being beaten back lots of times and eventually wore em down. Would the Scots have stomach for battle like that? I don't think so.

Nakamura's goal last night. Quality strike. When you see it from behind the player you can see the swerve he puts on the ball. Keeper had no chance. His first old firm goal and what a way to open you account in it.

Now now POL much as I agree with you on the Rugby stuff, you aren't on the ball when it comes to Celtic.
Naka's goal was class FFS anyone who has played soccer would be happy with that "on the green" never mind on the pitch against the evil hun.
He struck across the ball if you watch from behind the goals. At half time Craig Burley said it was a great strike if he menat it. What else could he have meant?I'd say he was going for the top right corner as he was facing it, lets face it, a player that lines out for celtic would rarely mean to do something like that, especially a journeyman like him, the last celtic lad that could truly mean to score a goal like that was Larson

He was trying a fancy pass if you ask me.
If anything he was trying to curl it into the top right hand corner, took a wild swing at it and hey presto, you can see thats what the goal keeper thought aswell, when he was trying what he done, the goal keeper would easily have saved it, he was not too far away as it was

They've an awful lot of games in the next few weeks. If the SFA don't extend the season for them, which they shouldn't, they'll have 13 games over the next 6 weeks provided they make the SC final. Tough run in for them. I don't think for a second that Celtic have been the more worthy side, but it's almost like the Seville season in 03 where Rangers won the league simply because of all the games Celtic were involved in.

Celtic Star Caught Up In Street Brawl
Apr 29 2008 By Paul O'Hare
Exclusive Mcgeady In Clash With Gers Fans
CELTIC star Aiden McGeady was caught up in a street brawl just hours after Sunday's Old Firm match.
The winger clashed with Rangers fans after being taunted as he left a nightclub with team-mate Scott McDonald, 24.
McGeady, 22, was targeted by the yobs who squared up to him and chanted: "If you hate Aiden McGeady clap your hands".
One onlooker said: "They were right in his face and very threatening."
Seconds later, the Republic of Ireland international was attacked. McGeady is said to have defended himself and the bust-up was over in seconds.
McDonald was not involved in the scuffle.
The two players had been celebrating their team's 3-2 win over Rangers when trouble flared outside Bamboo in Glasgow.
Hours earlier, Australian McDonald scored two goals and was brought down for Celtic's penalty clincher.
But it was McGeady who was singled out by the drunken louts.
Police were called to the city centre nightclub around 3.30am yesterday but no complaint was made.
A Celtic spokesman said: "The players made the club aware of this incident on Monday. Aiden has made it clear he'd be more than happy to co-operate with the police as both players were undoubtedly the aggrieved parties in this unfortunate incident."
Midfielder McGeady was last week named Scotland's player of the year and young player of the year by his fellow professionals.
But one Parkhead season ticket holder who witnessed the fracas was critical of the star.
He said: "Nobody deserves what happened to Aiden and he did his best to avoid the confrontation.
"But I don't think it was too clever going out after a Celtic v Rangers game, especially after his team had won.
"It's a sad indictment of Glasgow but players are best lying low after an Old Firm match."
The incident came just 24 hours after Motherwell captain Paul Quinn was attacked in Wishaw, Lanarkshire. He suffered a broken jaw and is out for the rest of season.
Meanwhile, a Celtic fan has died after being attacked in Govan, Glasgow. Patrick McBride, 51, was assaulted by a gang around 9.30pm on Sunday.
It's believed the Gorbals man suffered a heart attack.
He was not wearing any football colours but cops believe the confrontation was triggered by the Old Firm game.
Three men, all aged 21, were arrested in connection with the incident and are expected at Glasgow Sheriff Court today.
There were six other arrests linked to the Old Firm match, mainly for minor offences.
