I was watching the match last night and one fellas got so worked up that if torres had walked into the room he would have got a blow-job like it of not.

I was shocked by the gheyness on display.

Imagine if he had a decent team around him!

he doesnt need any teamates, bar a keeper to hoof the ball in his general direction, he does it all himself from there, thus explaining his astonishing feats this season

I reckon he's the kinda fella who likes a challenge, Roy of the Rovers or Sports Billy style...fighting against the odds. Atletico were poor enough in his time there and he carried them for a good spell too.

not only that but led from the front and was the captain too. and not an alan shearer/ henry front man captain. a captain in the lines of gallas etc who went and talked to players, advised them, constantly roaring instructions on the pitch. totally different to his liverpool play. as he says himself. now he feels he can sit there and wait for his chances to score as theirs other players good enough to do the dropping deep etc.

seen him play six times in madrid. tons of times on line as thats really wehre you could only see athletico week in week out. met him twice. two signed jerseys. was a huge huge fan . gutted, truley gutted he went to liverpool. not since roberto baggio have i followed a player regardless of what club he was at. i will say this though. since hes signed for the pool the signed jerseys have been put away for safe keeping and i dont support him as such anymore. thrilled hes doing so well. gutted wenger didnt follow through with signing him them few years ago.

with Forlan to spring from the bench.

Also, imagine if Atletico had been able to keep hold of Petrov aswell!

...and signed George 'The King' O'Callaghan before losing out to Cork City in the 'race' for his signature...I hear the superior benefits package on offer at City swung it - free entry to Cubins on a sunday night and an 'all you can eat' deal from Lennox's ....Athletico could hardly compete with that...

I think they weren't too worried about losing Petrov (didn't they sell him for fairly cheap?). Surprising really cause he always looked like a very good player when i'd see him play for them.

[manyoo fan] This is ridiculous, they're different types of players and shouldn't be compared. One scores a shitload of goals and the other does the unseen things well[/manyoo fan]

It hard to compare as they are from completely different eras, ..but Jesus never really did it in Europe.

..and of all of Jesus' miracles, none were against the best opposition. ..flat track bully.

Torres for me.

He sees it as quite the opposite, he was fed up with having to be the man to do it all at Atletico. He considers himself to be surrounded by much better players now, and is left free to focus on scoring goals, apparently.

Atletico haven't done have bad with the money either- but they still need three better defenders, and an anchorman.

Torres strikes me as not being the brightest..

..he has that vacant look, ..the new Jason McAteer at Liverpool?
..apparently he has everyone in stitches with impressions of Carra and StevieMe.

What's the betting he'll never pick up English?

..plus he seems to have been infatuated with Rafa. ..he was absolutely in awe of Rafa from the Spanish days. ..again, not the brightest.

Liverpool are a one-man team - FACT

I'm just not sure who that one man is (and has been for the last few years for that matter) - Torres, Gerrard, Reina, Mascherano, Carragher...whoever it is though is definitely the man and the rest are pants, FACT

Touche.

Do you see my point though? This "Liverpool are a one/two man team" is a myth...no more true than Utd (Ronaldo and Rooney), Arsenal (Cesc and Adebayour) or Chelsea (Drogba and Lampard). Liverpool have plenty of other high-performing players but these are largely ignored

Well without Torres they finished 3rd last year so you have a point

I don't agree with the one man team thing, but without Torres this season may have been a disaster, but then again, crouch or whoever might have scored more too so it's hard to judge

Without all those players mentioned above each of those teams would struggle though, so Liverpool are no different, (presume this is your point), so fair enough

If Liverpool are a one-man team (which they're not), that man is Macherano. He is the man who stops the opposition, and give Gerrard his reference point. Gerrard is the man making things happen in the final third. Torres sits up and top ands sticks them away.

Take any one of those three out, and the whole system collapses. Every other player out there is expendable, give or take.
