I've mentioned in previous threads my suspicions regarding last year's final. Late in the final set Taylor has 50 left with his last dart and Barney not on a finish and he had a pop at the bull and missed.

I think that when people played Taylor in the past they were so serious and concentrating so much on Phil Taylor they beat themselves.

Mardle was trying to relax by playing to the crowd and having "fun" for lack of a better word that he played better.
