the new owners seem to be undermining him so i wouldn't be surprised if he's gone by the beginning of next season

woo hoo, bye bye bluffer. Houllier Mark 2. Liverpool need to get back to having a coach who believes in having the team move forward and attack teams. Pass and move and score.

to honest if rafa goes i'd love to see jose at liverpool. very good manager and entertaining at the same time. its a win win situation.

saying that i don't think things are that bad to be sacking rafa. liverpool are just starting to find there feet again after a poor two months. they can still rescue the champions league disaster and they are unbeaten in the league. not to mention the highlight of the season so far of getting into the quarter finals of the fizzy cup :p

All Rafa ever seems to talk about is new players....

He forgets sometimes that most of the players he currently has in the squad were brought in by him and that maybe he should concentrate working with them rather than writing them off instantly , otherwise overhaul his scouting system as it constantly supplies him with duds

"Waaah, those nasty yanks won't give me more money"
Fuck off will ya! You're just after spending 50 mill in the summer. You threw a tantrum after the Champions League final because you weren't being given money, then you got it, spent it and you're still not happy.
The death knells of his reign are being sounded already. Gillette and Hicks will not put up with this cry-baby much longer and quite right too.

When mourinho accepted his severance, was there a certain period of time in which he couldn't manage another English club or was it that he couldn't manage another English club as his next job?

there seems to be alot of inferences in that article too, btw.

This is from the scummy Sun so take with a pinch of salt

sounds like a good interview:)

The "interview" in full

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez's controversial media conference yesterday has been printed in full.
The Sun has broken down Benitez's tetchy performance as it emerges today he's fed-up with the lack of communication from Liverpool's American owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett over transfer funds for the January market.

Benitez, who last week turned down overtures from Bayern Munich, arrived 35 minutes late for his usual media briefing. This is how he dealt with the probing:

How much will you have to spend in January?
"As always I am focused on training and coaching my team."

Are there assurances you'll have what you want?
"As always I am focused on training and coaching my team."

So what is the long-term plan?
"My plan is training and coaching the team."

Is there anything upsetting you?

"As always I am focused on training and coaching my team."

Do you have anything to say?
"As always I am focused on training and coaching my team."

Even off the record?
"No."

It's clear something is up.
"You have my answer."

You're very different from normal.
"You have my answer."

You said after the Bayern story you were happy to stay here a long time. Is that still the case?
"As always I am focused on training and coaching my team."

You're not normally late. You were obviously preoccupied by something.
"Because as always I was focusing on the training session."

Is there anything you'd like to say?
"As always I am focused on training and coaching my team."

You always say you're focused on that but usually give off-the-record answers to enquiries. How come it's suddenly changed?
"No off-the-record stuff. Nothing. I'm just focused on training and coaching as always."

You suggested you were open to the possibility of the England job. Is that something we should treat seriously?
"It's your decision. You never know what will happen in the future."

Were you serious when you answered it?
"I was serious."

One day you're looking to stay here a long time, the next who knows about the England job. That's a contradiction.
"The future is the future. Now, as always, I am focused on training and coaching my team, so I cannot say anything else. Just to keep preparing for the next game."

So what you're saying suggests perhaps the future here is in question?
"I am focused on training and coaching my team."

So who knows?
"As always I am focused on training and coaching my team."

Are you being allowed to do that as you wish?
"I am focused on training and coaching my team."

Does everyone at the club share that opinion?
"As always I am focused on training and coaching my team."

Focus is Key , Training hard and resting

The lads on the Guardian podcast said the reason Rafa rotates is to keep the criminals of Liverpool guessing as to who will be at home or not if they decide to burgle another pool player

All that money, new owners, big new shiney stadium on the way.....Money dont buy happiness Rafa ... apparantly it buys overhyped underperforming players. ( Torres aside.) Liverpool's lack of championships over the last 16 years has got to go down to the fact that they change managers too often. Bar Chelsea's hire/purchase agreement of the PL and Blackburn's season of joy, it has only been won by stable clubs with a long term manager at the helm ie Arsenal and Utd. Maybe Mourinho will bring the PL back to Liverpool or maybe he may come in and have them play the dull football Chelsea played under his reign...no change in tactics then for the reds.;)

I must admit I was tickled by his comments about the vacant England position and his applying for it when his English gets a little better... Is this
in case he refers to Argentina as a 'small country' when he loses to them?

IMO it'd be more in his line to consider his purchases more carefully rather than carping about the amount he's being afforded. If he wants Masch then get shot of Carson and Momo.

And if I were the one ponying up the cash I'd make the point in no uncertain terms. The only thing I object to here is that it has been conducted in public and a bad result this weekend would make it a right mess.

I wouldn't want to see him leave over money matters however i think all this talk in the last 2 or 3 days has been blown out of proportion.
He has been given plenty money but is a bit hit and miss in the transfer market, however if he did go I wouldn't mind who came in (even Jose) as long as they mount a serious title challenge

Since its inception it's been won by Blackburn, United, Arsenal & Chelsea.

Wenger wasn't a long term appointment when they won it first. He's only become a long term appointment of late.

So of the 4 winners, 3 of them have been with their clubs less than 3 years when the championship was won.

3 points behind the top two now, 1 goal off in the g.d. stakes, and the best away record in the league, if they can stop dropping points at home then they've a chanc eof being contenders

Slagged them off again, I don't believe it! He's skating on really fucking thin ice now. He's almost engaging in brinkmanship:"Go on, sack me if you dare"

Edit:
Seems he's jumped before he was shoved:

At this stage it seems like he is trying to get himself fired! I remember Le Guen at Rangers almost seemed to be doing the same thing. I'm sure this way they get a good pay off and don't look like failures who got fired. His stock will still be high if he gets out now. -AmadeusDC-

hence the outburst

A LIVERPOOL fan group today called for supporters to march on Anfield in support of Rafael Benitez.

Reclaim the Kop has organised a protest outside a nearby pub and wants fans to bring banners and flags to take to the ground.

Other supporters’ organisations also called for demonstrations of support at tomorrow night’s Champions League game against Porto.

An online petition backing Benitez was today nearing 5,000 signatures.
