Lamps definitely on the left - those pursed,smacked-arse lips quivering slightly as all four chins move together but in different directions,as he goes deliberately offside ( ref are you fucking blind ? ) to take Pol's cherry.

And Pol's silly attempt at light-heartedness to mask the fact that he was so enjoying the Spanish waiter's close attention to his hind quarters that he took his eye off the cherry.

Just downloaded the 606 World Cup call in show with John Inverdale. In a shite game, both teams played shite rugby, and they all ring in saying how great they are and how they deserve to be in the final. I was independent until they started coming out with this usual "we're the best" shite. I mean why cant they just accept 1. they have the luck with them, for one that France did not play tonight, not like they did against the ABs at least, and 2. They won the game ugly, not that I have anything against that, but the way they're talking, you would think that it was free flowing, dynamic, skillful rugby. Was a shite game, and Jonny Wilkinson (who I have huge respect for, both for mental strength and skill) won it for them again, helped by one stupid French mistake at the start, and indiscipline.

Congrats on the win Piebald, and thats the truth.
I think you'll find that the SFI have been one of the few backers of the english rogby team over the years, with our star man sir johnny leading the way.
Met a couple of English "buddies" on saturday night and wished them similarly well.
I'm divided over who i want to win the final though, will take tim to think over that. Its a 50/50 game

Nice one Lamps, It'll be a though one to call, SA are favourites but I think our lads have every chance of doing it. There were a few other English in the East Village on Saturday, but there was only me jumping in the air, arms raised, shouting 'FUCK YEAH' after every English score.

"Magnifique", that was the word used by some english papers to describe England's win over France. what a load of shit, these journalists should have a quick look at a dictionary and look at the meaning of that word..coz i didnt see anything magnifique in that game. Proxy win with a proxy try. England's probably the worst team to make it to a WC final ever. Wilko should be awarded knighthood if England's goes all the way.
Just wanna see South Africa thrash England now...

Proxy try and ugly win, if that terminology makes you feel better...
Losing ugly starts becoming a french thing.
Im just gutted and now hope that Laporte's successor's going to get France to play beautiful and attacking rugby again.

Laporte is the Eddie O Sullivan of French rugby, happy to be one point up with 10 minutes to go. Crazy stuff when you're play against King Johnny.
If they were run properly they could be unstopable, seemed like the bluffer Laporte was happy with a semi spot and respectability

I think Brian " Pitbull " Moore answered this question fairly succinctly in his Telegraph column this morning in a message to the England team.
Facile comparisons of you against the alleged strengths of teams that have flown home do not matter – it is the points on the board that matter. Continue to play to your strengths, forget everyone else.
You have no duty to entertain, if people cannot find inspiration or compulsion from your courage, fortitude and honesty, it's their problem, not yours.
Immortality awaits. No country has ever successfully defended the World Cup. If you achieve that, only the bigots can dispute that you deserve it.
Fair fucks to England, alright it's not pretty but a win is a win. To be honest France did'nt play attractive Rugby against NZ apart from the break for the try. They were just as guilty as England last night of 'ugly rugby'. But I think that's the way its gone. With so much training now and specialist coaches etc. the naturalism of the game is past. It's now all about safe play, avoiding mistakes/penalties, play for terriority and win by 4-6 points.
Am seriously mixed up about the final. I've been supporting England for the first time in my life in any sport at this world cup and its a strange feeling, can I extend my support to the final I don't know. The players though seem like a grounded bunch and the supporters too -

Yes,shortly before the Croke Park game !
BTW he also opened today's article with ..
I can hear it now, resounding from the other side of the world: "This is the worst World Cup ever, these are the worst defending world champions ever, this is bad news for world rugby, if we'd have played them we'd have won by 30 points, if, if, if?..." Yeah, and if my granny had balls, she'd be my grandad.
You can bet Regan and Sheridan won't be intimidated by the South Africans underhand tactics on Saturday.

Well deserved victory IMO
They showed bottle and tactical awareness and even though i would never shout for an English team over a French one, I thought that it was the same old story for France, who as usual, beat a good team but couldn't deliver the trophy
I thought it was a fascinating match too for the neutral, with loads at stake and in fairness, very few mistakes (compared to last night or any of Irelands games)
Anyone calling the English lucky should remember some of this countries biggest sporting moments (Stuggart 1988:))
You need balls to go with your luck
Unfortunately, it leaves a neutral with noone left to shout for on Saturday, as i never really like S Arica either but hopefully it will be a good game

7 reason why England could win, one reason why SA should win.
DISCIPLINE
South Africas discipline went even when the game was won. On the flip side England went the final 37 minutes of the game v France without conceding a penalty in any kickable part of the field.
THE PUMAS RESULT FLATTERS SA
To a small degree the Puma handed the victory to the Springboks, as they must have made more unforced errors in that one game than they did throughout the whole tournament. Also their lineout did not function at all!!
ARROGANCE (and I mean SA's arrogance NOT Englands!!!)
Who knows, but losing 36-0 earlier in the tournament to the Boks might just do England a huge favour, especially as Zola Yeye, the SA team manager, has stated that England are in for 'another painful Boks bashing'. He added that, 'What we did to England, 36-0, we will inflict the same punishment on them again'. Can't he keep quiet, look at what the Australians were saying before their game v England, just gives us more ammo to use as motivation.
INTENSITY OF GAMES
SA have not had the intensity of the last 4 games games England have had, especially having beaten Australia and the host nation.
ENGLAND ARE PLAYING TO THEIR STRENGTHS
Yes, England are not the best team to start this tournament, probably behind 6 or 7 teams at least. Its not pretty playing 10 man rugby but thats all we really have in the locker. Unfortunately its all about winning and wether that is acheived by using the pack and outhalf to get field position so be it. Like everyone, would love to see free flowing running rugby. There will be free flowing rugby but it'll come from the Boks which really should win them the game.
ITS THE UNDERDOGS TOURNAMENT
If you're honest, don't you just have a nagging feeling that the tournament has at least one more upset to cough up before its all over for another 4 years????
FINALLY
Do England deserve to be in the final? Completely immaterial question, they are. I agree with Ashton, don't think reaching the final will be enough for these players since turning their form on its head and taking two huge scalps.
WHY SA SHOULD WIN
They have a pack to match England, but the backs are way superior, especially with the pace of Habana and the overall kicking game of Percy. If those boys get plenty of ball, then its SA's game, if not, who knows!!!!
