Wolves midfielder Darren Potter has been ruled out of the Republic of Ireland's Euro 2008 qualifier against Germany at Croke Park on Saturday.
Other injury doubts John O'Shea and Andy Reid did take a limited part in training on Friday morning and their chances of lining out have improved.
O'Shea has a leg injury while Reid has been troubled by an ankle problem.
Potter has a groin injury but he could come back into contention for Wednesday's game against Cyprus.
The Wolves player impressed in the friendly win over Denmark in August.
Stephen Elliott, Stephen Carr, Stephen Ireland and Andy O'Brien pulled out of the Republic squad earlier this week.

Paul McShane is suspended for Saturday's game and Republic boss Steve Staunton said on Friday morning that O'Shea will partner Richard Dunne in central defence if he is declared fit on Saturday.
Manchester City midfielder Ireland pulled out on Tuesday, saying he "would not do his country or himself justice" after his controversial withdrawal from the last qualifier against the Czech Republic.
Ireland withdrew citing the death of a grandmother, but he later admitted he had made it up as he wanted to be with his partner who had suffered a miscarriage.
The Republic must beat Germany to keep alive their slim hopes of qualifying for the finals.
