Great chance this year I reckon....beat Waterford away on Friday night and we are in the semis - Leon McSweeney has the look of a cup winner about him - he has taken up the challenge of being our main goalscorer since Roy's departure...

Yup City are bang in formHmmmm... dunno about that but I do hope they can advance in the cup. They seem to find it difficult to go into games with the right attitude after winning the previous game. It happened a few times this season and it almost happened again last friday but they managed to get it right in the end.

We should beat Waterford on Friday alright, so you'd hope that we could go a bit further after that.
Lads, we are only three points behind second and third, with 8 games to go (24 points) and Pats and Rover have only 7 games to go (21 points). We are 8 points off Drogs and they have 7 games and one of those is against us. I'm not saying we can win it but there is no way i'd be ruling it out either. We are finally getting something that looks like a bit of form and if we do handy in the 8 games we could be doing alright.

is the game on friday or saturday? the official site says friday on the sidebar but i'm fairly sure it's saturday. it's on tg4 aswell.
win on friday and we're looking at an interesting end to the season. i think it could go either way and would be happy with a draw.

actually a draw would be nice in ways to bring em back to the cross for the replay, but i'd prefer to finish it down there.

A very long shot though...Drogs look that bit much better than anyone this year....same old story for us...a few injuries here and there for us and the rest and we are looking at dropped points. We really cannot afford to drop many at all...we would need 20 out of the 24 points and even that might not be enough...there is always hope though...McSweeney is looking good and in fairness he has taken on the mantle of goalscorer in chief really well...
However, I fancy us in the cup alright...a day out in Dublin for Cork people again...it's never ending really :)

Great stuff, he just waiting about two seconds and pulled the trigger. How can a linesman call offside when 22 men are in the other side of the pitch? How can a ref call offside when someone beats three players to nearly go through on goal? How can a ref not call for someone being offside, who then passes it and then call someone offside when being played on by three players? Jebus wept it was unreal?
Free kick against us for the goal and one minute later a Waterford player nearly breaks his wrist while climbing four feet over a City player on his back and nothing is given. Kearney is nearly cut in two and nothing happens and a City player gets a card when Waterford fans think they are getting one.
It might have been a draw but the ref was the real 'winner' tonight.
Fcuk it, we have 'em back in the cross now to finish the job.

Fuckin great result....Behan 'The Beast' to win the cup for us...
In all fairness to him and Leon McSweeney...they have been knocking in the goals big time since Roy left...it's almost as if we realised that we relied on Roy too much to bag the goals and now that he's gone, we've scored more by spreading the play a bit more...City are certainly great to watch at the minute...

Hard to call...if we get UCD at home, we could nearly start booking Dublin on final weekend now...
On a pure excitement level, Bohs at home would be some buzz in the semi...a packed house that night at the Cross without doubt...
Longford are the one i want to avoid in the semi...their cup record defies logic really. However, it would be the best away trip...
Awaiting the draw anxiously...

Finally...the semi-final draw is on the Six one news tonight....a long wait for this but looking forward to it...games are scheduled for Friday and Sunday of the Oct Bank Holiday weekend...
Longford away on the Sunday or Bohs at home either day would be potentially cracking encounters...Longfor d trip would be a good weekend away as well...
However, get UCD and we should be looking forward to the Final...
