Fair play to Kilkenny on their victory, well deserved. Theyve got some superb players.

By all means say what you want when you collect Liam but I thought the mic hogging was a bit excessive. It was nice to have the kid and James McGarry there and their loss has been terrible no doubt but I thought it was cringing the way Shefflin went on and on about it.

Similarly I thought Brennan would never give him the cup, usually the president makes a short speech instead of rambling on and on like he did yesterday. Talk about loving the sound of your own voice.

The most moving speech in years. I was in bits listening to it. Brought back bad memories of a few weeks ago.

Brennans face annoyed me quite a bit. I really dislike the man, possibly moreso than Sean Kelly, if thats possible.

it's ok to dislike him, he has an arrogant smirk painted onto his face

Worst Nickey Brennan moment yesterday was when he was taking his bow for being on the Jubilee team. "Arrogant smirk" was about right. Kind of a "yes, it's me again, I used to be able to play a bit too" look about him.

His programme notes were stomach churning as well. He went on about how he marked the great Jimmy Barry-Murphy and played well blah blah blah.

Kelly has his moments but this simpleton still takes the biscuit.

It was a good speech but could have been said in a quarter of the time. I agree that Brennan went on way longer than he should have. Maybe because it was in front of his own countymen.

Barely a word of an teanga in there either which would have lost Shefflin a few points with the purists!
