What will it take, he's up to apprx 35 million now, entering Spurs territory, soon only Cheslea and manU will be able to compete with such spending power. Have you ever heard the likes of it
He's lost 3 in a row, soon to be 4 if ginsoak is any sort of professional.
Managers have been sacked for less. I think its fair to say that he's taken Sunderland as far as he can.
I'll be keeping an eye on things.

Do you think he's really trying to ruin Sunderland?
In a few months, he'll resign and say to Quinn 'That's for Saipan, you c*nt'.
There's no other reason to spend so much money on so many shit players.

That'll be the bumslappers line anyway, only thing is no-one will touch him after this.
He's beginging to make Bryan Robson look like a shrewd judge of a player and tactical master

I've not seen this kind of spending for so little return since the heyday of Ged.

Can't believe the prices he's paid for Championship level players.

Here Mon, what was the crack with Boruc giving Naylor aggro in the CL game?

If he resigns, does that count as walking out on your country twice?

Richardson and Petrov were the same price.
Nuff said.

I have no beef with Keane Mark, never have had. I do think he's paying way over the odds though and it merits discussion.

Basing your whole transfer policy around United reserves, the lads who backed him in Saipan and what he remembers from his 6 months in Scotland wouldn't be my thinking.
I remember Jack Charlton was on the late late and The plank asked him what would make Keane such a truly great manager seeing as he was already half way there being the type of player he was, Big Jack countered quickly by asking the plank to name one fiery central midfielder who had become a great manager.
Obviously the plank didn't have a clue but its a tough question.
From the English game especially. Certainly a lot of flops Bremner, Giles, Souness, Robbo, Reid and now Keane

The way I see is:
If* Sunderland get relegated, how many of their players would be picked up by other premiership sides?
Answer: I don't think any of them.
*When.

Solid, but that's about it.
Maybe the likes of Wigan might want him.

Marc, my comment was hardly a wum attempt.
Sound, Naylor's been playing rubbish with a while. The other night he left the ball go out for a corner when he could easily have cleared it, just stopped dead in his tracks, don't know what he was thinking. Boruc gave him the kick in the arse he needed. By all accounts they had to be separated again in the tunnel.

Spending the money he did on a pleb like Richardson when Fergie would have sold him nearly at half the price was crazy.
I still think they'll just about survive.

I think that after years of money-grabbing keane has forgotten what value is. He's just lashing out money for the sake of it at the moment. Keane found his level last year. Championship football.

great point.
the man's obsession with money will be the ruination of him and sunderland football club.
think about it for a sec. I'll get the ball flowing as such with a little root cause analysis
threatened to sign for Bayern : Money(burst the ManYoo wage structure)
walked out on his country: Money
got the boot from United: Power, Money
went to celtic : when they came to terms over some serious money
Went to work for Quinn:crazyeye: : Money (biggest paypacket in 2 div history)
anyone see a pattern here.

Outstanding posting today HM, Keane doesn't know the value of money, he wouldn't know how much a can of chum for triggs would cost its so long since he was in a shop

The pattern is that people are willing to pay top money to people who they think will do a good job.

Do you think that the shower of journey men and bluffers keane has spent 35 million on will do a good job? With that kind of money he should have been able to build a top 10 squad. Instead he'll be lucky to stay up. Keane is a charlatan, simple as.

6 million for Kenwyne Jones is the equivalent to spending 500 euro for a penny sweet.
This transfer deadline really informs the public of distressed managers.

i'l be honest here. i too, (and i think ye all know i'm a big fan of roy) have been less than impressed with his spending in the transfer market.
but ffs, give the guy a chance. he's 4 games into a new season. if they get relagated fair enough. but if he manages to mould the players he has into a team (ala steve copell at reading, sam allardayce at bolton etc) and they stay up and he goes onto to build on that, will you then give him a bit of credit?
17th will be a good year for sunderland this year imho.

get out of jail card
maybe. but it took allardyce a few years to get bolton into the top half and david moyes almost took everton down after they got 4th .just like the ridiculous situation where jol is under such pressure at spurs sacking keane after 4 games would be an act of gross stupidity.
