Best Cork comedian ?? thats a difficult one to answer as there are so many good ones, you have Alan Hurley, Kevin Goldsmith, Jamie O Shea, Eoin Keegan, David Duff, Breen Crotty, and so many more. Ross Browne certainly stands out on his own and would be mega hugh if he decided on comedy full time. But the best Cork comedian to be has to be Michael Mee, he,s level of comedy is clean and surpass's anyone else out there at the moment. Not wanting to offend the rest of the lads but there are more out there who will surpass us all keep an eye out for Cathal O Loughlan, pity Tim Hadfield is English, 800 yrs and all that.

Jason Coughlan (did i get the name right?) he is seriously funny, really natural and easy going and does not sound scripted at all.

A new face to the Cork comedian scene is a guy named Dillon Holland, keep an eye out for this guy. The guy has almost everything going for him, good story lines, great timing and excellent presentation. Mr Holland can go very far in this business if he so decide to do so

Has he any gigs in the near future?

Who would you compare him next or near to???

Don't say Tommy Tiernan, i hate him... He's too fuckin' religious throughout nearly every set i heard him in...

A new comedian to add to the list is Dillon Holland, saw him the other night at the Gas comedy club. The guy is good, material, delivery,ti ming, focus, he has it all going for him. from what i observed the audience really liked him, and there was a good mixture in the audience, so keep a listen out for this guy Dillon Holland, I'm pretty sure you will enjoy his routine

best cork comedian...... i must admit i go to a few gigs in cork mostly the craichouse, and city limits when i can afford it, im no expert, but to hear the guy pat who i assume is the same guy, who does the same, material, and wears the same pink shirt, claim a guy who is just new to comedy, has great lines timing and presence, makes me laugh probably your funniest lines ever,as for best cork comedian i would probablysay michael mee, jason coughlan and im not sure of the guys name but he does a routine about the best man speech at gods wedding pretty good,

you assume correctly as to who I am, mainly because I actually use my name and not an alias like your good self. The shirt is pink and "white", and is actually two identical shirts. I would agree you are not an expert, were you one you would have stated that the guy who does the best mans speech is actually Cathal O Loughlin who I consider to be an excellent comedian. I also am not an expert but I have followed stand up comedy since the mid 70's so I have seen quite a lot of comedians through out the years and I like to think that yes I know a good comedians when I see one. Have you actually seen the guy I suggested ,doing stand up ,I'm interested, next time your in the craichouse let's chat. I take on board what you are saying, hopefully you might get to see dylan and see for yourself that he does indeed have great lines, material and presence, this is not just me who thinks this I also go by the review sheets I get from the audience, and why must you "admit "you go to a few gigs in Cork???? also if I say Michael Mee and my taste is shite then how are you also saying Michael Mee, perhaps it's in the breeding man

I don't enough of the Cork comedians mainly because I have only returned to Cork after years in the states where I worked as a critic in LA and the big Apple, so I do know comedy. From what I have seen of Cork comedy it is not that great but it has big potential if harvested in the right way. City Limits is overated, and they charge way too much bucks to go in. I like the guy Jason Coughlin, but is he just impersonating Tommy Tiernan ?? he should develop his own style. The guy Dylan ( hope it's the same guy) is really smooth and if he is really new then he is above the average level for new comedians. I like the Slainte (last Sunday) it has a more fun approach to comedy, and I really like the father and son dudes, it's different. Cork needs a new venue more upmarket than the Slainte, but with the Slainte approach, I would be willing to pay more but I expect better comedians. Get the guys who dont play city limits, there must be plenty out there, their the guys you need. More competition in Cork,,,,then you have a winner.

It's pretty amazing how many new cork comedians are on the scene since this particular thread was started only a few months ago. A few of the new kids ( at my age I can actually call them kids without causing insult) are excellent anyone going to comedy should try and catch Blake Norten, his material is very well planned and well constructed. Daniel Cahill is a born natural comedian, his style is suited to only him, I firmly believe that this guy if he continues to work hard and take a leap in to comedy full time, then he will in a few short years just might be the no1 Cork comedian, you have to catch this guy I think he really has that x factor.

I saw Kevin Goldsmith last year doing warm-up for Des Bishop - he was brilliant - it takes serious balls to stand up in front of a home crowd especially in the Opera House........

Kevin was only here last Sunday night at the Craichouse, he will be back down to us in May. I like Kevin what you see is what you get, no s**t behind the face.
