Jesus, first 20 minutes was unbelievably bad. Thought it was alright second half and a good comeback by Cork even if they huffed and puffed. Still, a nice way to spend the evening.;)

Something like 2-12 to 1-16? Cork won by a late point anyway having trailed by seven with about 10 minutes to go.
They were well better than Tipp but too many of the main players had off days.

The u-21 grade seems wide open now with Tipp & KK both beaten. Did Shane O'Neill play Kola?

If you had read along you'd surely have picked up the code.

didn't get to this but a friend who was at it said Tipp will be kicking themselves for losing this one.
Can't find a match report anywhere for this one yet.
Also, good news for Cork and more bad bad news for Babs and his increasingly Donkey like Tipp team, Paul Ormonde has left the panel. He would probably have started corner back saturday given they are already missing Diarmaid Fitzgerald and Paul Curran. Eoin Kelly out aswell by the looks of it,groin injury.

3-4 years ago i believe.
edit, i've mistaken tipp for waterford in 2003, still, that's hardly a county you expect to beat cork in football but they did, so only an idiot assumes

that was a bit of a shock at the time but they beat Kerry after in the munster final aswell.
For the record Cork have won the last 4 munster titles at u-21 football

I dunno for sure but I think he didn't.
Bit disappointed to see oor Johnny Halbert taken off shortly after half time though I think he'd an injury.
Interesting what Cork seem to be looking for in midfielders these days, they seemed to be using him as a sort of playmaker with Leigh Desmond alongside in a similar role. Lot of angled passes into the half-forwards and corner forwards. Interesting approach. He doesn't even play midfield for the Hill like.
Leigh Desmond was good but a bit patchy. Again, he was playing full forward for his club.
Where's this midfield policy coming from? Gerald McCarthy? Or does it go back to the previous regime?
I like it though, course, it looks bad when the pass doesn't come off!

And when did Kilkenny win a football match at any grade?
Also you showed how much you know by overlooking the name Shane O'Neill.

Leigh Desmond was the one of last years minors, shone at midfield on more than one occasion and also in college hurling this year. Think Youghal had him at full forward dues to a lack of scoring forwards elsewhere in their lineup. He's definitely one for the future

Youghal brought him out around midfield for a stint alright.
I think he looked more dangerous further in though.
Centre-forward maybe? Or would he be too light for that?
He'd a savage oul' doll hanging off him at the Hill match as well! ;)

I don't think he'd be too light for it at u21 but at senior yes he would, give him a few years and he'll be there, like alot of lads he needs to fill out a bit. Not all 19 or 20 year olds have frames like Pa Cronin does.

And if had read through what was posted already he wouldnt have needed to unless he thinks Shane O'Neill is a footballer.

ha, you silly bastard, there's a lad playing for skibbereen who could be breaking into the cork U-21 football team, although it may be a year or 2 early for him, + you forget the fact i'm over in england (which everyone here knows) and the U-21 champ isn't exactly the most publicised, so it was no way near an unreasonable question, but hey you're a thick cunt so i'll leave ya too it

c'mere is there a lad called o'driscoll from west cork in the team yet? he's got another 2 years left at U-21 but he was in the minor team at 16 so he might have made it early

Did you see any of the Waterford game against Cork?
Also I know you're in England.
On a serious note. Have Skibb got any good young fellas around minor level??

nope, what's the relevance?
don't know about minor, at U-21 they're shit or at least were when they were minor 3 years ago and U-16 before that. not sure what age the o'neill lad is, but he has another year maybe 2 at U-21.

I was just wondering if the younger generation (ie sons) of the '93 team start to show up yet. I'd be guessing those fellas have another few years to go though.
Looking back on that side they had some excellent footballers between Micky Mac (RIP) and the Davis brothers. The games in '94 in the Pairc against the Haven were brilliant.

the haven have a decent U-21 team this year, but we (gabriel rangers) always beat the teams around us coming up through the age grades (i would be in the gabriels U-21 team this year if i was home) with the exception of bantry who would have a 50/50 win/loss ratio over the years

The Blaa's beat Limerick last night in the semi final, setting up a final with either Cork or Clare.
