worth a tenner?Don't ask me, I'm no expert. I love hurling but hate football. I would have thought 39/1 is decent enough.

Cork footballers are the dark horses this year in many peoples opinions, and I certainly would not rule them out. They were robbed in the Munster by Kerry. Should have got a clear penalty in the last five mins. I think they have a very clear hunger this year and I am more impressed by them this year than I have been in a long time.
As for the hurlers I still have to see them impress me as much as they have in recent years. With a few new youngfellas, they may have the hunger they so clearly lacked last year. Hopefully Kilkenny will have a run of easy games to the final, because Cork, which hopefully in their favour, have a really steady run of games in front of them. This could work to their favour or completely tire them out on the other hand. The only other team I would really worry about this year in the hurling would be Waterford, but as we all know they always blow it on the big stage. I did envisage Galway to make it far but after their diabolical display against Clare, I've accepted I was wrong.
It's certainly worth a tenner. I as always will be putting one down but my prediction for this year is as follows:
Cork v Kilkenny (no surprise)
Cork v Dublin (complete outside thought - just hate the thought of those Kerry wankers in anything that resembles a final)

The odds are 27/1, I think. 3/1 for the hurlers and you can get about 9/1 on the footballers.
If I was doing it myself i'd throw 50 on it. If the hurlers win the AI and the footballers are after making the final you'll be able to cover your bet, which is always handy.

i was wondering the same thing recently. 39/1 or even 27/1 seems handy enough. The Hurlers will shake it up definatley, think they have a real hunger now after losing last year and the incident with the three players getting sent off this year, something to prove I suppose. As far as the football, Cork beat Kerry last year in Munster and Kerry came back to win the whole thing, so think they could rattle this year.
Worth the bet, IMO

Dont do anything until the football qualifier draw is made. If Cork get lets say Mayo or Derry, the odds on the footballers may rise. However if they were to get Louth or the like the odds could fall. Also Sligo are are possible opponant in the 1/4's as they are a provincial holder and maybe Laois could cause an upset in beating the Dubs.

I slapped 50 yo-yos on Kerry to win the big ball (13/8) and Kilkenny to win the small ball (6/5)

Always thought it was multiple the two odds. But ya, that makes perfect sense alright.

Always thought it was multiple the two odds. But ya, that makes perfect sense alright. You multiply the decimal odds together, not the frational ones. Evens or 1/1 = 2 in decimal odds, 6/4 = 2.5 and 7/4 = 2.75 so a treble with evens, 6/4 and 7/4 = 2*2.5*2.75 = 13.75 which means your potential profit is €12.75 per €1 staked.

i would presume Cashmans have probably taken some substantial bets on the football for the odds to be that different. Bound to have being the local bookies. I remember a few years ago St.Catherines regraded to Intermediate hurling and Cashmans put them at ridiculously long odds to win it, so the whole team pooled together, laid a nice sum and proceded to win the county!

I'm fairly sure that last year Cashmans were offering the best price for the Cork double.

I think the odds are 32/1 but I could be corrected again by Dan. He'll know for sure.
Threw 30 on it as well. Bit disappointing the odds of the footballers went in to 8/1, makes a nice difference. Must be the surge of punters from the PROC which caused the odds to go in.
Happy out now to see the hurlers win it and the footballers in the final, a handy 450 quid either way.
