Are they now more important than the actual goals?
Saw bits and pieces, very small ones of that game last night, and from what I saw he put in a very decent looping ball, which took an awkward high bounce which Crouch finished superbly. Superbly.
Camera pans to Sir Dave and various players running to him.
Similar thing for Sir Mickeys one.
Same thing against Brazil.
StevieMac after the game, cleary on yokes, claiming there's no better right sided player in the world.
I love it.
After all the bullshit of the world cup England are going right back to their weakness. Becks right, two players who can't play together in the middle.
Dropping their most effective forward is next on the agenda.

If they had Staunton in charge the midfield 2 would be McCann & Jagielka which would be better balanced!
The English are setting themselves up for a major falling again. I noticed that McClaren picked Jenas ahead of Carrick for last nights squad. Now as a United fan I'd prefer that none of the United players would be anyway near the team but from a footballing point of view I think it was a ridiculous decision.
And Beckham is great again so we're told. It was Estonia FFS. Besides he never should have been dropped in the 1st place IMO. 6 goals they scored at the world cup & he was involved in 3. How on earth do you drop a man who is responsible for creating 50% of your goals?

Saw the highlights of this, where the beeb spent the entire thing fawning over becks and his right foot. Their admiration only increased when he whipped off his left sock on the bench to reveal a dressing, which means he must have been injured, which makes him superman.

In fairness , and I can't believe Im gonna defend the BBC but they did criticise his play a lot last night in the analysis . They didn't do it in any incisive manner but there was some criticism there at least. I didn't really see the much of the game so I can't really comment on his performance

Oh christ you should here the media over here today, England are the next Euro champions!!!! Unbelievable, they have beaten a team slightly above the talents of the Faroe Islands, and Ex Captain marvelous is God again. Just wait till Russia and Croatia come to town and fuck it all up again. I honestly feel sorry for some of the players in the England squad. The media are so jekyll and Hyde over here that they havent a leg to stand on.

beckhams form has been good recently, hence his recall to the english team. i think when his form was poor and he was still picked cause he was english captain. he played very poorly as english captain IMO
on his day there is no better crosser of the football in world football. hope to see him play consistently well until he goes to the states.

Brilliant crosses again from Beckham and he is still well able to do it at the highest level. I bet he is regretting the decision to leave Real at least 2 years to early after getting back in to both sides.
The Midfield partnership was a disaster again last night. Massive gap in front of the back 4 and any decent side would have scored a couple against them last night.

oh yeah, go david. what a guy. way to prove all his critics wrong with 2 assists against one of the worst teams in europe. and carrying an alleged injury. my fucking hero.
finally in the last couple of months Becks shows some genuine application on the football pitch .....for about the first since 2002.

I would say since Duscher of Deportivo clung him in the Champions League. The we had the whole metetarsel (sp???) injury overflow from the media. You know I still laugh when people blame the boots for the cause of this injury. It was just known as a broken foot til he injured it. Now the only difference is the correct medical term is known.

agreed, the notions and the fannying about have been discarded in the last few months to try and achieve something. ...he's been vital to Madrid's run of 9 wins from 10 which can see them surge to the title.
..a few years wasted by Becks.
