not obbsessed at all.
course you being all knowledgable would know about gate 7 and the wreaths laid there by our fans. quick google google.
or of the thousands of us who happily spent the day, eating, drinking and singing, swapping scarfs, and sleeping with(in athens airport) milan fans.

comred,
I don't buy all this rubbish to be honest, and even the FIFA & UEFA awards the Celtic fans won are a bit of a sham. How do you quantify who exactly are the best and worst fans? But just because a few fans were well behaved doesn't mean it should make the news. It should never make the news, and normally doesn't, when fans are well behaved.
Laying wreaths etc, all great gestures, but it's not going to excuse the actions of a few thousand morons later on in the day.

mon the hoops ya spot on.
chris rock does a great skit on dads sayin they are there for the kids - well that's what they are supposed to do - it goes without saying. likewise football fans.
if football fans behave as they are supposed to it doesnt make the news quite right.
the difference is.
you go the game behave yaself - do the right thing - why should you be tarnished with the idiot that runs on the pitch, steals, fights, rapes pillage etc.
thats the point.

comred, I understand that, but if you get more than one person, or more than 10, or 100, or 1000 doing any one of those things then you have to start looking at your own problems.
There's plenty arseholes at Celtic away games, but instances are so few and far between that it's not taken into account.

yep your right mon the hoops and i've raised the issue about our support after the psv game where bunking in was dismissed widely as a few scallies. a couple of scallies in a crowd of 3500 is easier to police. hence it not making the press news at all.
the problem of 17000 tickets doesnt meet any decently supported team requirement at any final never mind the champions league.
not enough for liverpool.
not enough for celtic
not enough for man united.
we travel in our thousand to see the team.
you cant expect 17000 to self police the other 20/30/40000 other fans who turn up.
thats when it comes down to the authorities to do their job.
parry failed in his job with a ridicuolous ballot system which got lots of fans hopes up of getting a ticket. they booked flights and chose to go with or without a ticket.
parry also stupidly said our fans will get in by hook or by crook.
some of our fans opted for the latter.
parry should resign for this latest idiocy.
uefa also had their family section of tickets - the blackmarket.
in istanbul these family tickets where available to purchase on the day of the game from touts.
in athens those tickets just werent in circulation. the greeks had either flogged them or as one taxi driver told me - had decided to go the game himself.
uefa's family ticket allocation should be reduced and a greater amount of tickets given to the two teams who reach the final. uefa should be held to account for this.
finally uefa's organisation of the checkpoints. the lack of count system - the lack of moving ticketless fans away from the ground. providing free transport for people without tickets to get to the ground. etc etc etc. i could go on about uefa's failing all day long.
and of course our own scally supporters who misbehaved and tried to gain entry should have been arrested and been banned from travelling again.
they werent and again this is uefa's failing.

because i think liverpool supporters as uefa say being branded the worst in europe is rather offensive to the thousands of decent reds who travelled over.
the other 'supporters' who turned up should have been dealt with by uefa - and uefa too should be held to account becuase they failed in their duty of care.
no matter if you dislike lfc and that element of our support its a very dangerous game to play to ignore uefa's role in the whole shambolic affair for future european matches.
thats not directed at you el toro but all those who i've heard saying ....yes but liverpool fans did misbehave.
yes they did but i'm not being tarred with them nor do am i willing to take on the role of policing them in their thousands - thats uefa and the authorities role.
its a role they have history in failing to do.
