What a knacker. See him handing out slaps in Croke Park? And to think the Cork hurlers could have players missing out for handbags at the Clare game.
He'll probably top the poll next time out though!

Apparently he's hated in Meath as much as he is everywhere else. That's why he flopped in the election. I'd say it was his own deluded sense of his own importance that made him think he could actually get elected.
Good player in his day but a low-life as a person. Remember the time he played against Australia in the International Rules series and called an Aborigine a "n****r during a game?
An absolute scumbag.

probably a once off Finnbar, in order to restore you're hatred of those cunts watch the 88 drawn final tonight and that should cure you of any impure thoughts!
As for Geraghty, if 4 Cork hurlers and 4 Clare hurlers get suspended for last weeks "violence", then Graham should have the book thrown at him for the 2 sending off offences missed by the ref but clearly caught on tv. To think he eventually got a yellow card for the softest of his 3 punches, what a joke.

Id never have a problem shouen for dublin over meath, in fairness what have Dublin ever done to us in GAA (apart from '83 down the Park) in comparison to Meath.
I dont think anything will be done about Geraghty, since in was a good enough game so media have something to write and talk about instead of focusing on particular off the ball incidents, something which is complete opposite to last week in the Cork and Clare game.

If the laws are to be properly enforced by the GAA or CCC then Geraghty will have to get 3 months for striking. It'll be interesting to see what action will be taken seeing as its the Dubs are Meath's opponants.

if the CCC take action one week then not the next they might aswell not exist. This is a bigger test of their worth than last week for me

I think so too. The Dubs looking at that the other night have every reason to feel a bit pissed off that not 1 but 2 punches were missed and if he plays in the replay then he'll get dogs abuse altogether.
I mean looking back on the incident last week there was very little evidence of punches and the like just a lot of pushing and shoving. Now the cameras have caught 2 clear striking offences, Geraghty should be subject to 3 months.

I presume that's what the Dubs fans were singing at him so (legal edit:I'm not saying there's any truth in it).

:-) True. You got your wish when the Aussies gave him a going over last year. Couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. No wonder Sean Boylan rated him so highly.

Boylan rated him so highly because he was and is a great player. Don't forget he had two goals ruled out incorrectly against Dublin which would have seen Meath through.

surprise surprise, his punishment is no punishment as the ref had dealt with the incidents by giving a free. What a fucking cop out

He is but he should still get punished like other players have (most notably those in Thurles last week).
Lets hope now he scores about 2-5 to knock the Dubs of of Leinster and we'll see how the media react to the fact he could play.

So what's going to happen when fellas are now waiting for the throw in and start getting over exhuberant with the shouders and whacking hurleys, its happens quite a bit, before the whistle is blown and the ref ends up having to separate them from each other.
What's the difference between this and what happened in thurles?
Fair play to Liam Dunne on Sunday for pointing out the carry on of Ciaran Whelan over the last few years. First time I've ever heard of him being singled out.

To be fair to the dubs they are saying very little about it & I think most of us Cork supporters feel they have every right to complain about Geraghty being available for the replay.
One thing I've been thinking about since I read the Examiner this morning was that if the ref saw both incidents when Geraghty appeared to throw a punch and awarded frees for them is that the ref had an absolute stinker of a game and considering that Michael Collins suffered for sending Peter Canavan off by not getting top class games since, should a similar rate fall upon the ref who took charge last sunday?

I missed that. did he mention the Westmeath - dublin match where Whelan should have been sent off in the first 5 seconds for punching a westmeath footballer in the facee right in front of the ref...who gave a free to westmeath but neglected to even note Whelan's number.
GAA refs, to be fair, are a complete and utter joke. No more so than when reffing tight games where they award nothing frees to the team behind to try and get a draw then blow up after minimal injury time if the scores are level. it's absolutely brazen.

I disagree. Cork supporters above all others should remain schtum after what happened with Lynch last year.

Thats true but since then the GAA have appointed the CCC to deal with cases like that. To say Geraghty gets away with 2 punches because the ref awarded frees on both occasions is either a flaw in the ruling (which I believe it to be) or downright poor ref-ing for missing the intent.
