I like the idea of owning a share in Leeds having an equal say with the rest of the owners. Think I'd get myself a few goldfish.
..we could build a decent club up slowly, ...perhaps get Seedorf in a few years, after he's done with Milan, ...we could get Scott Parker in, and give him his big chance...
..the possibilities are endless, who's in? ...only 50 euro start up

I managed to pay up via paypal. The first time I tried I got that "not accepting payment from outside the UK" thing but when I clicked on the link on the email again it took me straight to the third step of registration where you make payment. There are quite alot of Irish lads on there already. I guess you probably had to register in phase one first.
I've paid up the first 24 months to give us a good start, and hopefully we will get things rolling nicely asap.
They'd better start naming names of clubs quickly, ..none of this silent directors crap. ..I'm sure every journalist in the land has signed up as well to keep a brief on how things go. The media interest alone will add profile and funds to the project, ..and if enough shareholders go to the games then things will really kick on, ..unless those 5,000 or so get in for free and have to have free prawn sambos laid on.

aye, stumped up my few bob yesterday, should be interesting
Ebbsfleet United here we go.
I like the colours ..but the name will have to go. .. Liam Daish is the man in charge.
I like the way it has been levered with a bit of debt, that and the Eurostar sponsorship and the soon to open Eurostar station make this fucking excellent for the shareholders!
..more details from the circulated email... nothing too confidential given away.
Own the club, pick the team
Members will own the club through the MyFootballClub Trust. You will vote on team selection, player transfers and on major club decisions. Join thousands of other football fans and take part in the challenge of guiding a club up the football leagues.
The football club selection process
In all, MyFootballClub was approached by nine football club owners, and we approached several others. Getting to know one club and meeting the personalities involved is a process that can take several weeks. In three months, we took a close look at seven clubs. Confidentiality means we cannot disclose details of any of these discussions.
Of the seven football clubs considered, the MyFootballClub team believes that Ebbsfleet United FC present a unique opportunity. Here is some background to the deal and the football club:
Price
We have been able to structure a deal so that the up front payment is relatively small (to allow investment in the squad), with a further staged payment due 12 months after takeover. The club will also have a small amount of debt, which will need to be repaid or refinanced 3 years after takeover.
Only when due diligence is complete can further details be released.
Current Directors and club staff
For continuity, all club staff will remain. Directors will become non-executive Directors and will continue their roles at the club.
The manager
Liam Daish's title will change from Manager to Head Coach, in recognition of the unique role he will perform. Liam's backroom staff, including assistant Alan Kimble, will remain.
Liam Daish commented, "As a football fan, I think the MyFootballClub idea is fantastic. And as the coach, I look forward to the challenge of working with thousands of members to produce a winning team. Alan Kimble and myself are 100% committed to making this work."
Division
Playing in the Conference National, MyFootballClub members across the UK will have the opportunity of going to watch Ebbsfleet United matches. This would not have been the case with a club in a regional division.
Promotion to the Football League is one of the great prizes in English football, and the Conference also has a Wembley play-off final. The division enjoys a similar amount of TV and press coverage as Division Two.
Ground
Stonebridge Road was built in 1946 and has a capacity of 5,248 of which approximately 4,000 is standing. The club has a 17-year lease to play there the with a peppercorn rent. Plans are ongoing to build and move to a new stadium in the vicinity.
So as well as offering something for the traditionalist, there is also the prospect of a new stadium in the future.
Club sponsor
Eurostar is the club's main sponsor. The club is in the first season of a three-year deal. The club will receive monies in year two and three.
Location and transport
Ebbsfleet United FC is in northwest Kent and enjoys good transport links. By car it is junction 2 on the M25. And Northfleet station (a 5 minute walk to the ground) is 55 minutes from Charing Cross, London. Gravesend Station is also near by.
Ebbsfleet International Station, on the Eurostar line, opens on 19 November. It's approximately 500m from the Stonebridge Road ground. A high speed 15-minute domestic service from St Pancras will be introduced in 2009.

Something I'm not quite clear on here....
Roman Abramovich is overstepping the mark, going too far, egomaniac etc for interfering with how Mourinho ran Chelsea, yet this website plans to go far further than that, and it's a good thing?
Why would any off-field personnel, from the coach upwards, want anything to do with this club, and be subject to the whims and flights of fancy of fans?
I'm not entirely sure it's in the interests of the players either really. How the hell are fans supposed to be able to say if a player is really fit enough to play, for example?
It sounds like a recipe for madness. Ownership is a great idea, but a football clubs owner should not be picking the team.

I think the day to day running of the club, such as formations, who plays, etc is a ridiculous concept and won't work from a fan vote perspective.
The reality of the situation is that fans will only get to vote on a few financial issues, such as ticket prices, sponsorship, and the price and flavour of pies, ....anything else won't work.
And that's the way it's worked so far, the creators of the concept have been making all the decisions without any input so far.
..but we'll wait and see. It should be interesting, and the media interest alone means this thing can't fail.
....the Eurostar will be great for getting players coming over on the cheap from Belgium towards Kings Cross to stop off 'on loan'
..sweet.

Just to remind all the MyFC 'owners' - that Ebbsfleet are only 180 mins away from a Wembley appearance!
A two-legged semi-final (this Saturday and next) against BSP leaders Aldershot is all that stands in the way of 'Fleet making the FA Trophy final.
