Was thinking of heading up to New York for the first game then I saw when they're playing....the same day as the Champions League final.

FFS I know US marketing crowd are idiots but hang on a minute the FAI must have also been involved. Now it all makes pefect sense.

at least he's giving youth a go....a bit has been made in the media of connolly's and morrison's omission, but for friendlies like this it's best to blood players..although with that in mind i'd have given McShane, O Shea, Doyle, Kilbane and Ireland ( and maybe hunt ) a rest as well......may as well use the two games to have a look at everyone who is qualified ( maybe a couple of the Scottish premier guys and ex Juventus legend Ronnie O Brien? )...the result for these games is totally unimportant..unless stan is trying to stretch his record breaking winning streak

Defender Joe O’Cearuill has been provisionally called up by Republic of Ireland for the first time. Manager Steve Staunton has included the 20-year-old centre back in an experimental squad for two friendlies in the United States later this month. O’Cearuill, who joined Arsenal last summer, enjoyed a three-month loan spell at League One side Brighton this season, making his debut in the FA Cup Third Round tie against West Ham at Upton Park. He played 10 games for the south-coast club before returning to Arsenal in April. He also made 10 appearances for Arsenal Reserves and was an unused substitute in the Carling Cup Third Round victory at West Bromwich Albion. Ireland take on Ecuador at Giants Stadium, New York on Wednesday, May 23 before facing Bolivia at the Gillette Stadium, Boston, three days later.
