Irish People - Friendly or Crawlers

Why are Irish people so friendly to foreigners is it because they look up to them and look on them as above ourselves which if so we are only crawlers who crawl to foreigners

It's a small country and we like the idea of people wanting to come visit us or live here. We were a shit hole for long enough and they never came.
