when i first started watching italian football in the early 90s loved watching that great milan side - baresi, maldini, alber tini, savicevic, papin ,weah.
also gabby batistuta,what a player.
not forgetting roberto mancini and luca vialli.
but player i remember most fondly is zvonomir boban, loved watching him play, always regard him as one of the most underrated players of all time, absolutely loved in croatia helped largely by the fact he once attacked a yugoslav policeman who was beating a dinamo zagerb supporter during a game between them and red star belgrade when a riot broke out.

I'll have to take issue with this:
Pumpido was average as far as i remember. those considered top keepers of that era bats, schumaker, shilts and southall.
Litbarski was many things but not a tackler. A decent dribbler who disn't always have a place on the german team

Jean Marie Pfaff - seem to remember him being decent enough. Really I just remember him for his name. (Played goal for Belgium?)

he ended up at Bolonga at one stage. Andrea Silenzi was a Torino goal machine & then he joined Forest to flop completely. I'd say Mart really remembers him with affection!

It's a toughie Lamps. Some of Maddadonna's work has outclassed Pele's. However, all things considered, Pele has his toes out in front, the all round package like.
P.s I missed Maradona off my list on purpose because I shall never ever ever forgive him for his cheat in 86. (But what goes around comes around, what he took from god that day, god is now taking back).

Was it the qualifiers for 86 that we gave Belgium a good run for their money? I seem to rmember a 2-2 draw in there somewhere. then they went and had a great tournament.
We got Big Jack off the back of it.
