From RTE website 02 April:

A US bio-pharmaceutical company has announced a delay of two years in the creation of 1,100 jobs at a new plant in Cork.
Amgen, who is investing €820m at Carrigtwohill in Co Cork, says the plant will not go into production now until 2012.
A spokeswoman said following a global review of their business needs, it has been decided to reschedule the opening of the bulk manufacturing facility until 2012.

She stressed the company remains committed to the project but the time lines will be staggered and extended to 'allow a more efficient product'.
130 people are already employed by the company on site and she said these people would be redeployed, where necessary.
It was announced in January 2006 that the company planned to build process development, bulk manufacture and fill and finish facilities at Carrigtwohill, producing products for the European market.

" We are actually probably going to not go ahead with this project due to prohibitive costs, but we are going to keep our options open by stalling for time"

and wouldn't have anything to do with the fact that the FDA has suspended trials on the drug to be made in the Cork plant for more testing, after two deaths hence the share price drop in Jan....

listen people the world doesn't revolve around us ya know...
