There is no greater challenge for our country and the world than protecting our environment and dealing urgently with the challenge of climate change.

In fact, we know that we cannot sustain economic growth in Ireland unless we protect our environment.

On a global scale it could bring increased drought to some of the most vulnerable areas on the planet.

That is why we in Ireland, and in Europe, must show leadership on Climate Change.

My my, how things change! For years the policies of the Greens were dismissed by FF/PDs as nothing but the ramblings of crazies and loonies who wanted to drag us back to the dark ages, but now it's the new FF gospel!

It's not the FF gospel.

Bertie has realised that the PDs might not have enough seats to keep him in power after the last election. This is all about sweetening the Greens up as potential replacement coalition partners.

Fianna Fail's ideology is limited to the pursuit and retention of power.

I might have been being just a little bit sarcastic there jungle.

FF won't cut back on the Roads programme as we need roads.

The Greens have no monopoly on environmental issues.

C02 action plans have to be agreed on a global basis - Ireland cutting c02 omissions won't achieve alot/

So who are you really?

At least Dan Boyle has the good grace to identify himself.

Well - I am not running for election or I am not a member of any political party. In the past - I have voted SF, Green , Labour and FF.

In the next election I will vote FF as they have promised to bring in a grants system for part time courses. I am going back to college in September & this is an important issue for me.

I care for the environment - I don't have a car. I walk alot - so my carbon footprint aint big.

But my point being roads still need to be built.

You're damn right they do.

Which is, of course, why Fíanna Fáil are committed to building so many around Cork if they...

Oh, wait.

Wow, are there genuinely people who still believe FF election promises? The fact that they reneged on their promises in the 2002 election not make you the slightest bit discouraged about their bona fides?

Worse defence ever. Will that be on the re-election posters?
"Vote FF/PD; We're slightly less crap than the others"

Oh and for those of you who feel that this government hasn't done enough for Cork, Bertie sends you this message:

Regardless of whether they're better or worse than the others, they've been a poor government and the electorate need to let them know that by voting them out this year.

4 more years of FF/PD in government will be a disaster for the country.

I'd agree.

Unfortunately, I expect them to get back in.

However, this time I expect a minority administration that will fall within a couple of years.

i disagree, i think that a stable and competent government, like the one we have now will be great for the next 4 years.
