Neil Ronan should really be looking to finally make that spot his own. Hero is benefitting from Jerrys extended absence. This should be a good game, Wexford have a few wins under their belts and both sides will want the win to get to the latter stages.
Sully back at full back, odds are he'll stay there. But there was no harm at all in trying him out in the forwards given his record in the county championship over the last few years

when ben and jerry return (after the league is over) it'll be interesting to see where they gonna fit in, i cant see either of them been dropped,if they do come in, who gets the chop? peronally, i think the o connor brothers would do a great job in the half forward line either side of niall mccarthy, for example the championship team i would have is
back 7 as normal

He's showing up a lot more than Tom Kenny of late.
I'll get lynched for this but Kenny has'nt shown much consistancy since he's been in the Cork set up to fully justify his automatic starting place. I've nothing personnal against him but others like Timmy & Niall Mac have got loads of abuse from the likes of us when I think Kenny has been more erractic.

I think the competition in this area is important aswell. Certainly Kenny had a quiet year last year,Clare match aside. Hero undoubtedly has the hurling, but it's his temperment that has been his problem in the past. If he can keep that under control (big IF), then he may well nudge out Kenny on Jerrys return

Ya see I dont think it was just last year either. To me he over used the sort of game Cork were playing during the last 5 or so years. He would be making space for himself with a solo and then from about 60 yards out, in line with the posts he'd hand pass to someone in a trickier position to shoot than himself. It drove me mad.
I guess after seeing him hurl with Grenagh & UCC I think he's quite fortunate to have his place so assured.
Outside of hurling I hear he's a pure gent so its nothing personnal.

Cork 1-17 Wexford 0-18.
That doesn't sound all that impressive. Anyone able to report?

to be fair we played very well in the first half led by 3 points at half time, cathal naughton came in for an injuried kieran fraggy murphy turned the game, the pace this young fella has is frightful great prospect, at one stage it was 1-16 to 0-10 then cork let wexford come back into it again couldnt kill off the game.
positives from the game cathal naughton, sully lookin alot more comfortable back in full back, curran controlling half back line
and fair play to wexford look a very fit team and never gave up

Overall Cork were shocken and it only goes to prove the problems in the camp rumoured in the last week are true. The likes of of Tipp ,Kilkenny and waterford are well ahead of Cork already at this stage of the year. Two players walked out of the camp last week and the only questions are who's next.

the team played in patches and to be honest, never looked in danger of losing the match. Thought Fraggy was playing well until he went off and Naughton had a fine game when introduced. Curran was outstanding but we were quiet at midfield. Sully looked far more comfortable back in his regular spot aswell.
Perhaps after banging in the 1-2 without reply straight after half time, the team took their foot off the gas a little and Rory Jacob lead the Wexford revival.
Positives from yesterday: Curran, Sully, Naughton,Deane
Negatives: Midfield, letting wexford get 7 points without reply, being in a position at the end where the game was in the balance when it should have been over
