An often quoted word here, with regard to Ireland/Munster "success" in rugby and now getting thrown about in the cricket thread... define it so. What is it ya dont like about these sports, and people talking about them? Why is there such a need to put people down for having either a new or renewed interest in a sport just because they have a team they feel they can follow?

think its the bluffers a successful team attract,"sunshine" supporters, people who will always have an opinion when everything is rosy but disappear without a trace when things start to go pear shaped.

I don't see a problem with it, as I said in another thread, how many people started following Football after Euro 88 and Italia 90?

Every sport has its bandwagon jumpers, just like every sport has its arsehole followers.

Very few people start supporting an unsuccessful team.

Even though I say I'm not part of the Chelsea bandwagon, I did start supporting them when they ran away with the division 2 title in 1984. They were one of my more local clubs, but if it wasn't for that bit of success, I could have ended up a follower of Reading, Brentford or QPR...
