What sports do you actually follow ???

And what teams/individuals etc ????

It would be interesting to see you pin your colors to the mast for once, rather than ridiculing fans/teams in certain sports for whatever perceived benefit you may get from it !!!!

I have a great interest in sport.

I follow Cork GAA.

I also used to like Tony Alcock in the bowling and quite a fondness for the legend that was Eddie "steady eddie" Charlton. Liked Cowboy Bob Anderson in the darts.

I was up the attic the other day and found a big box of my old programmes(these are the things you get when you go to matches).

Amongst my collection I have 1986 Cup final, autographed by the Liverpool team which was gotten at the Liverpool Irealnd game at flower lodge, I have over a hundred GAA ones going back beyond Pairc Ui Chaoimh, I've got Munster V the Alll Blacks and Aussies at Muzzer, I've got Ireland V England in soccer in 82 and 92. Even a chelsea one , the night eddie newton supposedly was involved in a traffic accident in Ballyphehane, I've gotten City v Spurs at Muzzer with Paul F*cking Stewarts autograph, City V Bayern, and many many more.

My sporting credentials are not in doubt my soft drink loving friend.

That we fail to hop on every second bandwagon that rolls into town is our strength not a weakness.

Here endth the lesson.

Very nice. That team of 86 was my personal favourite L'pool team casue it really was a culmination of Shankley/Paisley and Fagans efforts before "King Kenny" spun his "magic".

Out of curiousity, what's the best hurling programme you own, Lamps? I inherited a load from my grandfather and various uncles (as well as the ones I picked up myself, obviously) - I think the 1966 All-Ireland Hurling Final is my favourite, in terms of historical significance and so on. I'm sure the grandfather had a copy of the programme for the Thunder & Lightning Final, but I think one of the uncles claimed it before I could get my hands on it.

(Yes, talking about collecting programmes isn't a million miles away from talking about collecting stamps. Screw yiz, anyway.)

was more into it as a young fella hence the attic. I also got most of the GAA one's from the grandfather.

I'm not sure whats the best programme i have, i have a lot of ones from 84-90 in hurling while not being that old, produced some great games.
I have some centerary stuff which is quite good.

The actual best programme would be the 86 cup final.

Have a load of club ones which are worth nothing, mainly filled with adds for bucthers and cobblers.
Found a complete world cup 90 album, all parts and stickers.
A class sticker album if ever there was one

Nonsense. Those are the things that you keep open on your lap during the match, so that you can mark in the scorers, who came on for who, and how many 65s and wides each side had with a pencil that you keep in your match trousers specially for the purpose, so that you have the figures to back you up when you're arguing about it in the pub later. When you get home, you put them away carefully in a press, so that you can refer to them in case the match ever comes up again in conversation.

You know nothing about GAA-obsessive grandfathers and the way they'd hand things down through the generations.

Fuck it, hat off, you're dead right. Classic GAAhead stuff. In the pub later though? You mean in between rants about "de soccer" in the pub of a cold January evening when there's last season's championship game to be mulled over for the 415th time and only the postponed U14 League football game in two weeks time to look forward to.

Hmmm, seems like a retrograde step now come to think of it.

Hmm, I dunno, I figure you'd be academically able for some sort of low grade officework. But that could be anything. The bit I don't understand is how come you're never on in the evening. Seems a bit strange that someone in your age bracket wouldn't have internet at home. Maybe you're too busy leafing through your collection of programs? Or watching GAA beo on TG4? Or perhaps you have it designated for quality family time?

Oooh, maybe you're a raging alco and its straight into the pub after work to get sozzled?

Seriously, I'm intrigued.

It's like you've opened a little door into your fiercely guarded private life with this revelation about your program collection and now, speaking for myself at any rate, I simply must know more.

Like fuck, at least amidst my twaddle there's the odd decent post. You add nothing to the forum, you should move on yourself.

Parker.

If you're so good at "noticing" things, why is that you wake every morning, look in the mirror and haven't spotted the cunt blinking back at you?
I have to say, as an outsider here, you are fairly rattled in this thread kola

First, I am henceforth embracing rattlement. Lamps is a tosser. You're not as bad but less amusing.

Good stuff, I bet they're even aware of Scott Parker's Chelsea career.

You gotta move with the times Norman, its all about reinvention at the level the SFI operate at.

Scott Parker and Turkey Vidic is old news, you may have noticed that I move at pace. Refering to you as FatKolaTom, KKK, Dr Pubes and Babestation are merely transient monickers each playing their own part in the drip destruction of a poster not fit to lick the boots of the forum overlords. Thats just one of the differences between clod like yourself and a tried and trusted INTERNET veteran like myself. Calling it a mismatch doesn't even describe it.
You be better off picking fights with Lame, thats your level. You'd have a better laugh lad.

Re-invention?!?

This guff would put an adrenalin shot to sleep. On a day when we have Roy shouting the odds, a vital qualifier, the aftermath of the 6 nations, the bewildering success of the cricket team and the league- this is the tripe people are coming out with. If ye just want to call people names, there is a morons forum for just that level of carry on.

Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you on experience.
