City Highs and Lows explores the beauty of Cork’s architecture from various unusual points across the city- as one would expect to see the city through the eyes of an impressionable first time visitor. A resident of Cork for almost four years Lisa Callaghan’s still ‘new eyes’ allow her to see beauty in what many of us see as ordinary and commonplace. Her paintings depict the dynamic scenes that make up Cork City from the tiny lanes stacked with colourful houses to the sleek designs that have brought the cityscape into the 21st century.
