A journey which began years ago for Guitar Master Simon Crockett…
Returning from Peru in 1961, Simon’s dad brought home and taught him a Peruvian Huayño (see Video) the first song Simon learnt and soon Spanish Guitar became his ticket for years of travelling, learning melodies, techniques and cultural kinships.
While busking on the cobbles of Avignon’s ‘Pope’s Palace’, Simon was spotted, then, invited to join a session with none other than the Gypsy Kings and family.
