Doors 10:00 pm - Admission: FREE

Playing downstairs in The Oliver Plunkett as part of Guinness Cork Jazz Festival, ZASKA seems to have come from a different place and era altogether. His unique stage identity of Guitarist + Frontman paired with his off-stage Composition + Arrangement talents has made him a complete musical anomaly in the Irish scene. Having completed a B.A. in Jazz Performance in Newpark Music Centre, he has found a way of channelling complex and unconventional composition techniques through a feel good blend of Future Soul, Hip Hop and Funk reminiscent of Hiatus Kaiyote, D’angelo and Tune Yards. Former members boast a rich catalogue of some of Ireland finest talent including Andrew Hozier Byrne (Hozier), Karen Cowley (Wyvern Lingo) and Dylan Lynch (Little Green Cars). With an entertainer’s soul fuelled by a supernova of raw energy backed by an 8-piece supergroup of Dublin’s most in demand professional musicians, Zaska’s famous live shows are a force to be reckoned with. After the release of his debut EP In Your Own Sweet Time along with a sold out launch gig in The Sugar Club in May 2014 he took the Irish gig circuit by storm leaving audiences calling him the “best live act in Dublin”. He then capped the year off with the release of his 2nd EP Different Light in November, which was named Goldenplec’s Irish EP of 2014. Having just released his newest single “Got To Go” in March to great critical acclaim and with a launch night to remember in the Sugar Club when his old band mate Hozier rejoined him on stage, Zaska’s schedule is now busier than ever with an impressive list of festivals including Body and Soul, Down With Jazz, Groove Festival, Longitude, Knockanstockan, Hop House Blues and Jazz Festival, Electric picnic, Canalaphonic and Cork Jazz festival already confirmed. 2016 looks to be full of nothing but promise for one of one of Ireland’s most unique and exciting prospect.
