#CorkLovesMusic, in association with First Music Contact (FMC) and Cork Midsummer Festival, presents the third in a series of talk and performance events, taking place throughout the year.
On the afternoon of the 22nd, Bunker Vinyl & Studio presents one-on-one music clinics with Angela Dorgan, CEO of First Music Contact (Hard Working Class Heroes, Music in Ireland). Open to the public, places strictly limited, application by email: firstname.lastname@example.org
On the evening of the 22nd, on stage at the Poor Relation on Parnell Place, we discuss everything to do with going live - getting booked, playing out, building yourself up, and getting ready for touring and the festival circuit. Joining us will be Aiken Promotions' Simon Merriman, Vantastival MD Louise Tangney, Cork-based independent tour booker Emma Kelly, and tour manager/artist liaison Jonathan Pearson.
Performing onstage will be singer-songwriter Saint Caoilian, rapper/beatmaker Outsider YP, and ambient/electronic explorer Gadget and the Cloud.
This unique collaboration is designed to offer career advice from FMC, inspiration and network opportunities through the talks and panels, as well as the opportunity to discover the wealth of talent in Cork’s Music scene on a regular basis.
#CorkLovesMusic is a newly-formed co-operative of music and media professionals, formed after TEDx CorkSalon's CorkLovesMusic event in September 2016. Working in collaboration with bodies like First Music Contact and Cork Midsummer, the aim is to open up new conversations in and around Cork's resurgent music community.
First Music Contact
First Music Contact (FMC) is the Arts Council-funded national resource organization for musicians, which runs the Irish Music Export Office, Music From Ireland (in association with Culture Ireland), the online music portal Breaking Tunes, and the annual music industry showcase Hard Working Class Heroes festival.
