Southampton & Leeds/Bradford Rejoice At Direct Flights to Cork

Citizens of Leeds, Bradford and Southampton are the latest to be awarded the privilege of having a direct flight to Cork. What a week for them.

For years lobby groups and campaigners in these three UK towns have been pleading with successive British governments to provide them with a direct flight to Cork and finally Aer Lingus Regional has come to the rescue.

In the past Southampton citizens’ rights groups have staged demonstrations at their airport in an effort to get access to the People’s Republic, a group in Leeds have gone on hunger strike and business groups in Bradford have deliberately destroyed the city centre with thousands of luminous plastic signs in protest.

This week’s announcements by Aer Lingus are set to transform the three cities as their citizens visit Leeside to discover the secret to creating a top-top city.

In the last few months Madrid and Boston have also been granted flights to the Rebel County bringing the total number of destinations to have flights to Cork to almost forty.

“We are proud that we have almost 40 great destinations for Rebels to choose from at our airport”, said an airport spokesperson, “but even more proud that Dublin isn’t one of them”.
