We are going to win the league

Danny Elbow

Well it looks like we are going to win the league! George O'Callaghan is going to be top scorer, we'll get a champion's league place next season and the pricks at the FAI will award the broadcast of all Ireland's home matches to the multi-channel. Well lets not get too excited but what an encouraging start! The first sign it was going to be a good night was the queue outside The Cross which was back as far as Tubs and Tiles on the Ballyphehane side and was the same on the Turner's Cross side. Lamping my head around the ground as I stepped through the turnstile, the deafening sound of the Shed in my ears, it was clear it was bordering on a sell-out except for the empty Shelbourne seats in the stand. FourFiveOne and the Supporters Club had their new giant banners up, there were very few with the new green kit but the ground was full of red accentuated by the beaming sun and blue sky. Here we go ! The off-line version of the PeoplesRepublicOfCork.com thousands of proud Rebels in one place!

Pure The Shed full.

Anyway after watching countless hours of television soccer over the last few weeks I was well up for a real live game and atmosphere. We didn't get just that we got a super looking Cork City side that are being compared to Brazil'
